Silent Hill

Thunderbolt Games
15 November 2008
  • Excerpt: There comes a point about an hour into Silent Hill where the game suddenly changes and becomes an altogether nastier experience. So far it’s been a fairly straight forward take on the Survival Horror genre. Your character Harry Mason has become separated from his daughter in the fogbound and empty town of Silent Hill. You have guided Harry first through the streets the into a school and fought off peeled dogs, mutant birds and little zombie children.

  • Summary: Overall Silent Hill as suspected every one including myself instantly compared it to Capcom's Resident Evil. But shockingly enough Silent Hill snuck some originality into the game. One being Harry can't shoot for crap, second the addition of detailed maps, radio and flashlight. Plus the game is dark as dark can get even with your lights on. The Gameplay is slightly linear, point A to point B thing. But the sounds and music score will keep you freaked out.

The duo set out for Silent Hill on one dark night, full of excitement and ready for a chance to unwind. However, just after entering the city limits, a weird incident takes place that forces Harry to swerve off the rode.

  • Excerpt: Silent Hill is Konami's first attempt to bring out a Resident Evil style game, but were they successful at it? Well not really, you see Silent Hill has a lot of problems with it let's start out with the story. It's about a man named Harry and his daughter Cheryl. He loses his daughter when they encounter something while driving in their car. The car stops and Cheryl is either kidnapped or she has ran away in a town called "Silent Hill".

Silent Hill

Playstation Illustrated
15 October 2004
  • Excerpt: Silent Hill is easily the goriest, scariest, most intense game I have ever played. Almost from the very beginning, you are gawking at blood-splattered surroundings and rotting corpses. While parents may not find this suitable for their children, those of us who are huge fans of horror genre games such as Resident Evil will absolutely love it! The eerie background music and realistically foreboding levels will terrify you from the start.

Silent Hill brings horror gamers screaming for more

GIN
23 June 1999
  • Excerpt: Silent Hill reaches a whole new level of horror as Konami brings to us perhaps the most blood-chilling, psychotic thriller ever to reach the Sony platform. Resident Evil? Parasite Eve? No contest. Silent Hill grips the darkest part of the gamer's imagination in a way that no game has before. Trust me when I tell you that this game will help you understand every aspect of the word ''fear.

Silent Hill

Gamebits

  • Excerpt: Resident Evil, Capcom's action-adventure series, took the gaming world by storm, yet there have been few "me-too"'s since then. With Silent Hill for the Sony PlayStation, Konami is one of the first to produce such a clone.

  • Conclusion: „Velice povedená PS Move hra, která kromě kvalitního a přesného ovládání nabízí slušnou porci zábavy a to hlavně mladším hráčům. Pro dospělé pak představuje zajímavé zpestření.
