Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete

RPG LAND
17 November 2003
  • Excerpt: Lunar 2: Eternal Blue was originally released for the ill-fated Sega CD. Years later, after its predecessor, Lunar: The Silver Star , got some Playstation remake action (under the name of Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete ), this second game was given the same treatment. Goodies such as a harbound instruction manual/mini guide, sountrack CD, and even a replica of Lucia’s pendant, among other things were bundled with the game in a “complete” version, and some improvments...

  • Excerpt: First, the games graphics have been enhanced quite a bit. Where there were once dated (yet still cool for their time) anime scenes, there are now high-tech CG/anime movies that will blow you away. The level of detail that Gonzo put into these scenes is amazing. Just watching the 5-10 minute anime intro will draw you into the level of depth this epic has. While the cutscenes are some of the best around, the in-game graphics are often criticized for being too old school.

Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete

Playstation Illustrated
26 June 2002
  • Excerpt: Well, if there's anything negative to say with respect to Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete , it's that its graphics aren't exactly fantastic. As this is a remake of a Sega CD game, you won't find any hi-poly models or mind-blowing spell effects. There are lots of 2D art and 2D sprites, though, and while the character sprites are a little shrimpy, the game still looks fine. Some of the areas are downright gorgeous, in a tile-based sort of way.
