Excerpt: Three strangers are drawn to an abandoned monastery in the Victorian period. Koudelka, who is a medium, Edward, an adventurer and dilletante, and James, a priest. Over the course of the night they will find out what the owner of the mansion was attempting, confront dark magic and monsters and find...
Pros: Great detail, immersive story, well - defined characters
Excerpt: It's 2000 and the selective hype-machine that is the video game media are getting excited about this dark, tricky-to-pronounce project (Infogrammes were also said to have miss-spelt it on a press release!) from the now defunct SNK.
Excerpt: It is only fairly recently that the Survival Horror/RPG sub-genre has started to emerge from its, overcrowded parent markets. Games such as Parasite Eve (import) and Galerians have strived to take the best elements of each style of game and blend them into a winning formula.
Excerpt: Well, what can I say? Koudelka is set back in the past (1800's) and has a genuine spooky feel. For me it was an impulse buy, I liked the sound of it for anything set in the past must be interesting. It really brings out a scarey feel to it. Let me explain.
Pros: Spine Chilling Gameplay with an affective storyline also it's pretty cheap .
Excerpt: Where do I start with this game? Ok it's set in the late 1800's, set in an old Monastary in northen England, Koudelka is the character you start with, the game starts with you meeting Edward, he is dying from being attacked by some kind of creature, shortly after he tells you this, You get attacked...
Pros: Very dark and Atmospheric, Great music and Graphics
Excerpt: The intro to this game is very awe inspiring with beautiful music rich in sound making the scnario and atmosphere of the game a mystery. The FMV cinematics a beautifully rendered and enhanced.
Pros: As soon as it came out it cost me a mere £28 . 50
Cons: The longetivity of the game is well . . . not exactly long and that is a bit dissapointing : (
Excerpt: As an attempt to combine role-playing with a horror story, this game doesn't provide a strong sense of fear in the player. With the slower pace of an RPG, there isn't that frightening quality of making the players jump out of their seat because some decrepit creature of the night came out of nowhere...
Summary: Tiene cosillas que molan mogollon pero la verdad es que el juego tiene momentos que dan bajón. No os dejeis engañar por la demo de la presentación, aunque merece la pena verla luego el juego no sigue el mismo rollito.
