Excerpt: The object of this game is fairly straightforward: run fast, jump far, and throw stuff in events like the; 100m Dash, 110m Hurdles, Javelin Throw, Long Jump, and Pole Vault. Unlike previous track and field games, ESPN IT&F adds non-track events as well, including the Horizontal Bar (male gymnastics), Trap Shooting, Weightlifting, 100m Freestyle (women's swimming), and Rhythm Gymnastics.
Excerpt: I am a bit of a playstation virgin. This game has, however, eased me gently into the world of virtual sport and I absolutely love it! I live in a house of 8, and this game is great because it allows 4 of us to play at one time. Now that we've also got the playstation 2, all 8 of us can compete. This game throws you into the world of track and field. You have to compete alongside 3 other competitors in games such as sprints, rowing, gymnastics and diving.
Excerpt: For my first athletics game this was pretty good. I enjoy watching the running events on the television, and this game gave me the opportunity to try out my skills at them. i was not disapponted, the ruunning events are really cool, and i still enjoy playing them now, and the field events are really realistic. You really feel as if you are in that arena trying to win the gold medal.
Excerpt: International Track And Field 2 (may also be known as ITAF2) has finally been released, after the world anticipating what this game is like, I will be giving the low-down. This game’s predecessor was a massive hit, as one of the first playstation releases ever, therefore this game has been given a massive amount of hype during its creation.
Excerpt: International Track and Field is a great game to play on your own and even better with four of your mates using a multitap. There is a great selection of events including 100m sprint to triple, long and high jump. There are 11 events in total. Ok it’s quite an old game and the newer version has come out but this is a good game never the less. The graphics aren’t all that great and it can be quite difficult as you have to tap the buttons as fast as you can.
Excerpt: Just as good as the first.International Track & Field 2000 is the first PlayStation update of the new millennium to Konami's classic Track & Field series. It's basically an arcade-style action game where you button mash your way to victory in several Olympic-style events. The game features an enhanced 3D engine with motion captured moves for all of the events, of which there are 11 in total: Shot Put, Pole Vault, 100m Dash, 100m Hurdles, Discus Throw, Long Jump, Triple...
Excerpt: I enjoyed the first track & field so I thought the new track and field would be really different and have new exciting events in but a lot of them were the same as the old one! They haven’t really changed the old events but put a few extras in like cycling and swimming in it! But if you have the 1st one my advice is not to bother buying this game because it isn’t worth it.
Excerpt: International Track and Field 2 is a game based on timing and very strong fingers and thumbs. With the addition of new evenets such as cycling and diving, this is a new spangly version of the original. With smooth graphics and and fancy moves, International Track and Field 2 is definitly a champion. The gameplay is superb, invite your friends round and gauge the difference between your skill, are you a Tony Jarrett or a Ben Johnson?
Excerpt: Even if you are not a fan of athletics you will still love this game, with its lifelike graphics and its everlasting gameplay its sure to tickle your fancy. You can choose from a veriety of nationalities and compete against others in over 12 events. The best feature of this game has to be its multiplayer capabilities as this title really is one you must challenge your mates to.
