Excerpt: Plot: The usually type adventure plot, not all that orginal. But if you like RGP's the plot is good and keeps you interested. The characters are one dimensional. Gameplay: The best thing about this game is the battle setup. Its really enjoyable and fexible. It reminds me a little of secret of mana. Where you can upgrade certain areas. The spells and specials are very numerous.
Pros: Great game, Great battle sytem
Cons: Graphics hurt my eyes and music was annoying
Excerpt: Grandia the dream of an adventurer *** History *** I always begin with my opinions with history, since I find that the play becomes interesting by history only. With this play it goes living around a boy (Justin) from the city Parm with its nut/mother (Lilly) together over its own restaurant. Some adventurer will wants like its model. Its model is his deceased father that him a spirit stone with magic forces left.
Excerpt: I heard a lot about the successful game, Grandia, which started it's life back in Japan on the Sega Saturn. I heard how the story, graphics, music, gameplay and the battle system are all good. So in 2001, I purchased the game after it's release in 1997. I played Grandia 2 before I played Grandia, even though I bought Grandia before it's sequel. So I should be able to like it's prequel more then the sequel I told myself, I will understand everything and love everything.
Pros: A unique storyling with a few funny lines . Great graphics
Excerpt: Aren’t nice surprises great? They certainly give Christmases and Birthdays a bit extra, that’s for sure. Anyway, birthdays and surprises link in neatly with my acquisition of PSOne R.P.G Grandia. For my 13th birthday, I went to Chester to empty my (parents) pockets and after scanning the shelves of GAME, I came across little-known role-playing title Grandia.
Pros: Fantastic storyline, astonishingly addictive, superb controls, great characters, beautiful design, excellent battle system
Cons: Visually dated, obviously won't suit those who hate role - playing games
Excerpt: If your anything like me Grandia is agreat game, still not as good as Final Fantasy but very close to it. If you like those older RPG type games where they put nothing into the graphics but have an amazing story line filling you with emotion then you must buy. I guess its closest cousin is final fantasy 7. It was also one of the first RPG's to have small clips of people speacking rather than just text, the game will last around 100 hours easily.
Excerpt: The involving and convoluted story in Grandia is everything an RPG plot should be and more besides. Many years before the human race claimed the world as their property, the peaceful Icarians ruled the world. After dividing the world in half, for reasons that become apparent later in the game, they used their vast knowledge to transcend the bonds of flesh and become beings of pure light and thought.
Pros: This game harks back to the classic RPGs of old . The story is therefore more important than the graphics .
Cons: Not the best looking game so some people may be put off before giving it a chance to shine .
Excerpt: I bought this game not hoping for much. I was pleasantly surprised... for a while. For the first 20 hours of the game I was captivated, it was really good. But then it just seemed to go downhill. It just became repetitive and monotonous (I found a village and was told to save it. So I did. Then we travelled to another town. I was told to save it. So then I went to another town and something was wrong! Ok so I didn't have to save the town (well I did in a way) but...
Pros: uhhh . . . fun for the first 20 hours, cheap (£20)
Cons: Monotonous, Unoriginal, so many damn dungeons, dungeon music will melt your mind ! , limited inventory slots, slowdown
Excerpt: At heart this is a minimalistic role playing game that follows intervals of relative tranquillity with moments of extreme danger. If you’re not a RPG loving person then this isn’t your thing! Basically you run around talking to the wacky inhabitants, buying items and exploring in the hazardous regions then you fight something and explore some more!
Excerpt: An excellent RPG adventure game here, anyone who likes this genre should enjoy this game. The graphics are cartoony, but when the game play is this good, who cares? The plot is your typical little you and your collected band vs the bad guys, but the plot takes some nice twists, the characters are all interesting and well developed, and the way they can develop, although at first taking a bit of getting used to, is original and interesting from a strategic point of view.
Pros: RPG and Adventure, always a good combination
Cons: Graphics are a little unusual and may take getting used to
Excerpt: When I first saw Grandia, I thought "oh no, not another cutsey little game!". Anyway, on the recommendation of a friend, I decided to try it, and I am HOOKED! It is a brilliant game, lots to do and lots of gameplay. After 8 hours, I am only a tiny way into the game, but have already done so much! If you enjoy epic games with strong storylines and a lot to learn and explore, you will love this game!! It is suitable for anybody over about the age of 10.
Pros: lots to do and see, excellent graphics, strong story
Cons: opening sequence on first play is way too long !
