Summary: This is a pretty good game. Compared to the first game this one is awsome in the tracks and cars parts, but the graphics still don't look real. There are alot more parts for the cars to. You have to be careful though the is a section in some parts that says for professionals these mods can mess up your car big time if you don't know what they are for or how to use them.
Excerpt: Introduction Those of us interested in retro gaming have to blink a bit when we realise that the original Sony PlayStation (PS1), which at the time of its launch felt like something coming to us from the distant future, is now well into the second half of its second decade of life. However, that can be seen as an opportunity rather than something depressing, since it's now possible to pick up a console and some excellent games for an absolute pittance; my local branch of...
Pros: Huge range of cars, great longevity, tuning options add depth, graphics good for such an old game
Cons: Only the odd real track (eg Laguna Seca), handling pretty arcadey even in GT mode, no Ferraris !
Excerpt: This game is absolutely excellent, i don't know whether that'sjust because it takes me back to when i was six or seven with my original playstation (which i still own) and my cumbersome steering wheel, but this game just makes me smile every time i take the disk out of the case right until it goes back in again. This game includes two disks, GT mode (career if you like) and arcade mode.
Excerpt: Well the first thing I want to say about Gran Tourismo is wife's WATCH OUT!!! I can't get my husband off this game. He is totally hooked. Gran Tourismo definately seems more of a man's game as opposed to a woman's. Hey, maybe that's just my opinion, but I'm not really into fast racing car games. My husband's opinion is that this is the most addictive game on the play station with the smoothest touch of any racing game.
Excerpt: I bought it thinking it would be a laugh and something to do when I was bored. It turned out to be very addictive and challenging. You start off wit 10,000 and get kicked out into the racing world. With a selection of around 600 cars in total and 20+ tracks and over 50 differennt races and competitions to partake in that will keep you busy for weeks. The graphics push to PSX to it's limits and the sound quality is great, with some superb bands complimenting it.
Pros: Excellent sound, good gameplay, widest selection of cars to date !
Excerpt: The original Gran Turismo (GT) game heralded a major step forward in racing games. It proclaimed itself to be 'The Real driving Simulator'. Well it didn't recreate trying to get a parking space on a Saturday morning at Woolies, but as far as track racing (Y'know, cars going round and round) it was on the mark for a 32-bit system. GT2, 'The Next Stage of the Real Driving Simulator', was the highly anticipated follow up. GT with bells and whistles on.
Pros: comprehensive, it's going to take a long time to finish
Cons: outdated, it's going to take a long time to finish
Excerpt: Gran Turismo 2. This really is the real driving simulation. This game has superb graphics. It is like watching a TV when you are playing it. There is not a great difference in the picture. The game is great to play and even better if you are a fan of any particular motor sport. It is very hard to complete. You’ll have to be on it day and night for about a month if you actually can be bothered to do so.
Pros: Great Graphics, good fun to play
Cons: Gets boring after a while, you'll switch to other games as this gets too hard
Excerpt: GT 2 a racing opinion I am a complete Play Station nerd!! I buy quite a few games but this one has to be the best bargain I have found. I found Gran Turismo 2 on the GAME website, at £20, which was pretty cheap as this included postage and packaging. You can pick GT 2 up in the shops for around £18 now though, so shop around! For those of you with no idea what I am talking about GT 2 is probably one of the best driving simulators for the Play Station you can get.
Excerpt: Facts: ***** 594 cars Worldwide brands of cars 28 tracks New rallying and drag car racing tracks One HUGE mode - Gran Turismo Two cds Publisher: SCEE Developer: Polyphony Digital Released: February 2000 ------------------------------------------ Opinion: ******* When Gran Turismo was released, i thought that was the best car game ever and no game will be better. Well i was wrong, i admit because of the sequel is EVEN BETTER, YES BETTER. Thanks to Polyphony Digital.
Pros: Look at the stats and the title, it is a complete game, look in op .
Excerpt: GRAN-TURISMO 2 Any one who has played the first game will know what to expect from the sequel or will they, well when I first played the game I was very surprised the game seemed to load much quicker to start with and when the menu comes up there is loads of differ rent options to choose between to start with you have £10,000.00 to spend on getting a car that will hopefully win you some races unlike the first game there is a lot better choice of fast cars, that are soon...
