Summary: Final Fantasy IX fixed the big mistake of Final Fantasy VIII. It went back to basics in story which was great. It's not on the same level as Final Fantasy VII, but is better than many of the new Final Fantasy games like FF X-2, XI, and XII. The game play is great, the story is great, the only little problems I had with it was thea the game world wasn't that big and the game was pretty easy, not as easy as FF X or XII, but still easy.
Summary: While not as good as the all time favorite Final Fantasy VII, this final fantasy is still very good and as of now my second favorite. Unlike the fantasy after it FFX, this one has great movies but also has a great storyline. Despite the fact that there is a lot less technology in this game and that its more medieval, It is stil wroth playing over and over again. There are some great extras like the Chocoboo Hot or Cold Game and the Moogle Mail.
Summary: Why don't people like this game anyway? I don't get it. Moving on. Final Fantast IX is a great game, for those of you who refuse to play it. The only problems I have with it are little nitpickity things resulting from playing it ten times. (Saving the female lead gets old no matter what game it is anyway.) The plot is pretty basic, and most of the characters are really nifty (and adorable...VIVI!! Awww.).
Summary: Great game. If you like Japanese style RPG's, it does not get better than this. Comic style compared to other Final Fantasies, but it is a serious game. My favorite aspect was the story. Battles are a bit repetitive, but there is a lot of strategy involved so it is fun, anyway. Characters and dialogue are engaging. Art style is beautiful. I could not ask for more.
Summary: This is by far my favorite of the Final Fantasy series, the story is amazing, the characters are varied, the battle system is excellent and the Trance system provides a fun boost of power that can easily tip the balance in a battle in your favor. Add to all that the abilities learned form equipment and you have quite the customization as you learn both active use abilities and passive bonuses, these passive bonuses can greatly alter the way a battle plays out.
