Excerpt: Before I start my rant let me say this. I'm a massive "EA Sports" and "FIFA" fan. I love the games. Can't get enough of them. But when I traded in my old Fifa 2000 and replaced it with Fifa 2001 I got quite a shock. First up having eagerly listened to the standard "E.A. sports. It's in the game!" I was dissapointed to find that the opening sequence wasn't half as good as it's predecessor, not critical to the game I know, but first impressions count and all.
Pros: Updated team lists, better goalkeepers
Cons: Weak opening, dull celebrations, nothing new .
Excerpt: I've seen quite a few heated debates about this argument...ISS Vs FIFA. I for one am a dedicated child of the FIFA games. I have every FIFA game there has been on the Playstation, right back to its humble days as FIFA '96. It is simple. There is no real talent to games like this, you soon learn how to pass the ball around and scored goals, there is no art. But the die-hard players will tell you otherwise. They believe they have perfected the game and everything too it.
Excerpt: Ever since 1994 on the Mega-Drive, EA Sports' Fifa series both on quality and popularity has dominated the football computer game market. No other series has even come close. There has been International Superstar Soccer, with games on the Mega-Drive, N64 and Playstation, and there has been the UEFA series including UEFA Champiomns League and UEFA Striker, but each year Fifa has stood out as by far the most popular football game available, although I believe ISS Pro...
Pros: Season mode continues after 1 year
Cons: Gameplay is somewhat repetitive after some time
Excerpt: FIFA I must say is one of the very best games that i have ever played on, the graphics that the game contains are excellent. All the sequals to FIFA 2001 are as good as eachother and this game should not be underestimated providing hours of enjoyment. EA Sports have include games for example like 'Road to the world cup' and the European events also. This games are very accurate in terms of player statistics while the commentry on FIFA 2001 is just pure class.
Excerpt: In my opinion, this is probably the best football game on the playstation at the moment - the only game that comes close is ISS Pro Evolution, however I recommend FIFA 2001 for football fans because it has proper tactics and the correct footballers names. The commentary is often slightly out of sequence with the on screen occurrances, and you can tell that certain buttons presses in certain positions will always lead to the same commentary.
Pros: Has all of the proper player names and all of the major leagues, and some minor ones to such as MLS and the Israeli league .
Cons: International squads are slightly out of date, and Mark Lawrenson is the co - commentator . The goalkeepers are occasionally semi - retarded when it comes to passbacks and bouncing balls . apart from this there are no major faults
Excerpt: This game is well quoted as being an upgraded version of Fifa 2000. It may be the case, but this game is superior in just about every field. Ever since I had got my Playstation I had promised myself a football game to replace my PC based World Cup 98. I got what I wanted. Although the control system has been slightly simplified (a shame really) to limit the number of skill moves you can perform to just four, the playability of this "sequel" can only be called superb.
Pros: Great playability, smooth graphics, and a great flowing commentary (if often interupted by foul outbursts from us in our livingroom armchairs ! )
Cons: Shame they have simplified the control system, meaning less skill moves
Excerpt: Fifa 2001 is a excellent game and should be the most most widely read footie game in the world......... But its not Magazines say its the worst fifa ever and should be left on the shelfs, that is absolute rubbish as it is by far the best fifa game. The graphics are better way better, there are lots more teams than the other fifas and has a wide selection of competitions to compete in.
Pros: the best ever
Cons: magizines cant come to realize its a great game
Excerpt: After buying all the fifa series before this I wondered this year if I was going to buy it because all the football games today are getting the same. But im glad I did buy it because it blew me away with the quality of it. Fifa is the best football simulation game around. With its excellent game play and it vast number of players and leagues it is every football fans dream game. The game has chanced abit over the years with many changes The one I think they should have...
Excerpt: Games like FIFA normally come across to kids as a great game to complete and play on it twenty four hours so to speak. Now those people out there with good job prospects I must warn you that these games are extremely addictive and can ruin your life. For example one of my school mates is very bright and wants to be a barrister.
Excerpt: Well what A game was my first impression of this football game but as you play a bit more you become a little undecided. This game as excellent presentation and the menus are laid out well and you can quickly set up a game and is playing or you can set yourself a league or cup game if you have a little more time.
Pros: Great Graphics, keeps you coming back for more,
