FIFA 2001 is a solid title in both graphics and sound. What would be a soccer game without the fans? Nothing. That's why crowd chants and other sound fx are at their peak in this title. Player models are a bit odd looking when up close (their shirts are maybe too baggy?), but look great from the overhead wide view. Before I start my rant let me say this. I'm a massive "EA Sports" and "FIFA" fan. I love the games. Can't get enough of them. But when I traded in my old Fifa 2000 and replaced it with Fifa 2001 I got quite a shock. First up having eagerly listened to the standard "E.A. sports. It's in the game!" I was dissapointed to find that the opening sequence wasn't half as good as it's predecessor, not critical to the game I know, but first impressions count and all. Read more

The 2001 installment of the FIFA series of soccer games features tremendous detail and realistic players. New visual effects such as lighting, depth of field, dramatic new cut scenes, and realtime projected stadium shadows are also featured. Defenders mark better, and goalies are more challenging and play smarter.
