Excerpt: My PC was sent away for repair yesterday, and then thanks to the British ‘summer’ weather I had two choices: 1. Go out and get a soaking. 2. Stay in and watch TV, or find something to do to fight the boredom. Well in the end I decided to stay in and I ended up playing on my brothers Playstation. And the game I went on was… (yeah, u guessed right)…Driver.
Pros: cool music, keeps u entertained for ages, only £19 . 99
Excerpt: I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy this game, however I would recommend it for rental. It is the type of game that is fun for the first week or so that you play it. After that it is easy to lose interest. In all honesty, I completed all the missions within 6 days of buying it, and after playing several times since, I have found it quite boring.
Excerpt: Driver is a driving similator set in three large cities. You play the part of an undercover cop on the wrong side of the law. The game is addictable and fun, but maintains a realistic feel and can be humourous at times. Unfortunately as the game progresses it loses its originality and tends to become boring with a repetition of missions, and predictable gameplay.
Excerpt: PLOT You play Tanner who you play for the mob undercover. You do loads of different jobs for them. But first you prove have to the mob that you are good enough to do the jobs for them. You have to prove how good you are in a car park with a few cars parked in there and a limited time and crashes to do 360 turns, burnout, slamon etc. Then if you could do that then you start doing jobs for them.
Pros: Replays,Replays lovely and graphics and could be a ongoing game
Cons: You stay in the car and the sounds, and menu dosen't look good .
Excerpt: This is a breath of fresh air. Instead of racing against some cars on a bland track, you are given whole cities to navigate! The basic gameplay involves attempting to complete jobs for underground gangs as an undercover cop. The storyline isn't great but backs up the action well. These jobs range from anything like transporting some criminal masterminds from a bank raid to delivering a new car to a 'client'.
Excerpt: So what exactly is this new game Driver? Well, to put it in layman’s terms, it is the game the world has been waiting for. It is the game almost unique in its gender. It is fantastic. And is better than Grand Theft Auto. Driver is an interesting, if not puzzling, type of game in more ways than one. In some ways it is like Grand Theft Auto because it is a ‘run away from the police’ thing, even though you are actually a member of the undercover police (like a spy).
Pros: First of it's kind (in 3d), Great game, great gfx
Excerpt: Picture the scene. You're in a car blasting down the infamous San Francisco hills with some cool 70s music in your ears. You're so relaxed you can almost change the colour of your skin, grow an Afro and wear some real hippie 70s clothes. Wait it’s the cops. They've seen you, they’ve recognised you as the bloke who picked up those bank robbers a few blocks back and then dropped them off at a safe house after a long police chase, which laid several cars out.
Pros: Excellent graphics, top corn, good gameplay, afros
Excerpt: Many people hyped this game, but I offer a warning (although a belated one) I did not enjoy this game. The gameplay is rigid, the graphics while looking nice are rigid, and after only a few minutes this game picks up an eerie predictability. The interface is well presented, but missions range from the absurb to the unrealistic. This is not a 1st person version of GTA!
Excerpt: If you are looking for a driving game, which has both great game play and good graphics then look no further than Driver. Driver is very similar to Grand Theft Auto, apart from Driver is 3D and you can’t run over pedestrians (doh!). I feel that Driver is the best racing game in its category, beating GTA and Driver 2. The game is suitable for both experts and novices. For the main part of the game, you have to complete missions, often racing against the clock.
Pros: good graphics, good AI on the cars, good handling, good game play, good varied missions
Excerpt: In Driver you play an ex-racing-car-driver-cop called Tanner who's gone into deep cover. You work for the mob and have to drive for them, rub people out (well, trash their cars anyway) and perform various jobs for them. Your first mission is to prove yourself to the mob by passing a "driving test". You have to drive around a car-park, performing hand-brake turns, burnouts, slaloms and more.
