Nice rally game, but the console roots are a bit too obvious

Conclusion: CMR2 is a nice rally with heavy console roots. The menu system is atrociously console-ish. The control mapping doesn't save my settings, even though it does allow me to map accel/brake to keyboard and steering to joystick (many games can't go that).
Pros: Decent handling, stages that are not too long, lots of cars, lots of countries with widely varying stages, decent graphics
Cons: Lousy menus that you can't use a mouse with (just console-style left/right/select), control configuration that can't be saved right, some stages impossible to do well
Conclusion: Overall, the game is a very detailed and soild racing game. Asides of the few graphical glitches and quirks, it's a demanding game that is ultimately rewarding, that takes concentration and patience to win. A solid game for any racing fan, and easy enough to pick and play for the casual gamer.
Pros: Colin McRae Rally 2.0 (CMR2) is a fantastic rally racing game for the PC.
Cons: The Sound is great, the motor sound and trie squeal sound great - BUT - for some reason they incuded music to listen to while driving. While that may work with the Arcade mode, it doesn't work with the actual rally racing. You have to concentrate and pay close attention to your co-driver, and hav...
Excerpt: **I know this is in the wrong category, but there still isn't a category for Colin Mcrae Rally 3 yet, so hopefully ciao will move this one, along with the mad cabbies when they create a category for it!
Pros: absolutely fantastic game, keeps you entertained, enough stages for prolonged gameplay
Excerpt: In my opinion Colin McRae Rally was the finest rally game that was available for the PSX. It’s handling, looks and options made it all you could want in a rally game. I noticed after it’s release that a lot of “wannabe rally games” or “pretenders to the crown” started to appear, but none could match...
Excerpt: I'm going a bit backwards at the moment. Many people will be aware of my stance on Videogames and especially the Dreamcast (sob), but just recently I've been getting a bit misty eyed. Nostalgia of sorts has crept into my life - which is a bit sad, as I'm only 19.
Pros: A few stages ahead of the pack when it was released
Excerpt: I recieved Colin Mcrae rally as a gift for My 11th birthday, and from the second i played it, I knew I was in for GRAPHICS:One of the things that came to my attention was it's excellent graphics,at first I even thought it was real!
Pros: Excellent graphics
Cons: Doesn't contain real rally driver other than Colllin Mcrae
Excerpt: I never played Colin McRae rally but im sure it not as good as this. Im only borrowing Colin McRae rally 2 from a mate. You don't need long to compleat this game but there's still alot to do like compleat all four stages of every rally with all the cars, win new cars, win new paint styles and win the...
Excerpt: The first colin mcrae was a good game that suffered from poor handling and limited scope. This they have fixed, and so much more... This is probably the finest rally simulator on the playstation.
Excerpt: After playing Colin McRae Rally , I thought why not treat myself so I went out and bought myself the then new version Colin McRae Rally 2 from a local shop. I was really impressed with the gameplay, graphics and sound. But then again I had to be after paying over £30 for it.
