Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare
4 May 2003
Excerpt: The graphics is Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare are typical survival horror fare, with detailed pre-rendered backgrounds of the likes of Resident Evil . Its what we have come to expect from this genre and it suits me just fine. Nice touches include the fantasticly spooky lighting effects (this is Alone in the Dark , after all), and a very Geiger-esque maze later in the game.
Conclusion: Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare is definitely up to scratch. The atmospheric graphics and music combine to give you more 'jump out of your skin' scares than ten of the best horror films, and game play is overall satisfying to play and flows well, resulting in a game that will keep you hooked to the end, no matter how long it takes (and it will take a while). Whether you're a fan of the genre or not, it will not disappoint.
