Expert Review

24 December 2007
  • Summary: All in all, the game is interesting, likable, and very creative. The gameplay is fun, especially for Tomb Raider fans and even including some new surprises. While the sparse problems within the game don't ruin the experience, they are noticeable. The graphics are very nice, even if they are grainy, and with all of the dynamic lighting and shapes, it all looks very eerie and very cool. The sounds are average, so overall, the game is pretty good.

Akuji the Heartless

Playstation Illustrated
27 March 2007
  • Excerpt: The first thing you’ll notice in Akuji the Heartless will be the graphics. They are outstanding, and very reminiscent of Tomb Raider . Despite the fact that you are battling your way through the Underworld, everything is lush, with the exception of a few pools of bloody goo here and there. There’s a mysterious FMV in the beginning which tells Akuji’s sad tale, and also cinematic to guide you from level to level.

  • Summary: Life is complicated. I've killed people... smuggled people... sold people. Perhaps here, things will be different," muses Nikolai 'Niko' Bellic over GTA IV's opening credits. Of course, this being GTA we - the player - know differently. Before the climax is reached, some thirty hours later, both the innocent and guilty will die. A storm is rolling into Liberty City from the Balkans, and it can only end one way... or can it?
