The Last Of Us Remastered – Review (PS4)
13 September 2014
Excerpt: Roughly a year ago, Naughty dog delivered on one of the most highly anticipated games in recent history. It walked away with a shedload of game of the year awards from pretty much everyone who was handing one out, and deservedly so. It was one of the most beautifully crafted pieces of art in the history of the PS3. So, when the rumours first went around that it was being given the remastering treatment for our PS4s many people rejoiced.
Conclusion: Déjà culte sur PS3, The Last of Us Remastered réussit son pari.
Summary: " The Last of Us: Remastered " remains a powerful and compelling game twelve months on. If you’ve already played the game, the basically full price (and no discount for existing owners) makes it harder to recommend. However, for newcomers, I have no hesitation in recommending the game. This is by far and away the best way to play the game with the uncompromised resolution, superior frame-rate and full content roster.
Summary: The Last of Us has one of the best stories in recent memory. Too bad the rest of the gameplay isn't as well done. With far too many action segments and repetitive puzzles, this survival action game gets bogged down by filler. Thankfully the strong last act and great chemistry between leads makes this a must-play, warts and all. Tweet This product was submitted by the publisher for review. As a rule, Defunct Games does not review games we spent money on.
Excerpt: The last of Us has proven to be one of the last generations crowning achievements since it launch in mid 2013. It had been a while since the team at Naughty Dog had departed from the much-loved Uncharted series and while it did borrow some elements from that series, it really pushed the limits of story telling in a market that has rapidly become a combination of cut-scene riddled corridor shooters and generic quest open world titles.
Pros: Massively improved graphics, Improved sound quality, All current DLC included, Use of the light bar and speaker on DS4 is cool
Cons: Paying full retail for a second time just 12 months after buying the game on PlayStation 3 does feel a little strange
Excerpt: The Last of Us is possibly one of the best games ever created, and although the game was created for the last generation of gaming, it appears to be one of the best games you can buy for the PS4. The graphics already looked great on the original version, but the remastered title definitely looks better when you compare them side-by-side.
Excerpt: It was just over a year ago that Naughty Dog bestowed upon the PlayStation 3 perhaps the finest gift any system headed into retirement could ask for. No, it wasn’t a rare gold watch dug up by Nathan Drake. It was the mind-blowing and, in the most literal use of the word, “epic” video game of that generation.
