Summary: Final Fantasy XIV found itself languishing back during its original release only weeks after its inception. The juggernaut Final Fantasy XI grew into was a tough act to follow, but no one predicted such a spectacular failure.

Conclusion: There’s little about Final Fantasy XIV that renovates the MMO’s basic form, but it tackles that addictive paradigm with zeal and emerges with an engrossing world and fluid combat system all its own.
Summary: A Realm Reborn is everything Square Enix wanted FFXIV to be and more, with a unique class system that gives players a freedom that’s not found in many MMORPGs today. It’s fun, it’s pretty, and Square Enix is 100% forgiven.
Conclusion: A Realm Reborn was already a great game when it launched, though it admittedly ran out of steam after a few months. Thanks to a bunch of content upgrades and a new level of sheen afforded by the PS4 hardware however, the game is easily one of the best on the market right now.
