Summary: I feel like this game wanted to be Shenmue, but it is not. I'm not going to lie, I never finished this game. Running around the streets of Kyoto is boring. The karioke game shows this games true colors which are shades of gray and a vomit green. Combat = bad, graphics = bad, levels = bad, voice acting = bad. However, this game made a great coaster when I was finished. I bought it new so I couldn't get my money back. Don't buy, borrow, or rent Yakuza 3.... it sucks.
Summary: The Graphics for this is good butt the controls suck and the Story line is dead.. i almost fell asleep playing the frist 10 mins of this game.. its so bad i thought the japanese where trying to bore us to death.
Summary: If you're a fighting game fan with an interest in organized crime then you will enjoy this. I am heavily interested in organized crime but not so much fighting games. The combat feels very good and fun. Maybe its because I don't particularly like fighting games, but I thought it got really repetitive towards the end of the game. Normal difficult is easy enough but when it comes to Boss fights, I had to move it down to easy most of the time.
Summary: Yakuza 3 is a very different type of gangster game. I suppose it is the Japanese equivalent to GTA and the ever popular sandbox crime game genre, apart from there being no driving, no crime on citizens and very little shooting. Instead, in a genuine high level gangster game we have sword fights, looking after orphans, and general Japanese craziness involving one eyed characters and semi homo-eroticism.
Pros: Great combat and music, good characters and story
Cons: Bad graphics, un skippable cut scenes and some boring mandatory missions
Excerpt: I got this game hoping for a japanese GTA, but ended up getting Shenmue with a little bit more blood. Relies heavily on beat-em-up style fighting, and has a ridiculous learning curve between one fight and the next. Plenty of mini games and open towns are a plus (you get experience for drinking high-class whisky too!), but all in all this game is linear and simple. Always research games before getting them, I have learned!
Excerpt: not as expected graphics abit of a let down and chapters too small (gets annoying). got some good gameing like been able to run around freely and go off on side missions and also fishing and other games pool casino games 6.5/10 over all for this game
