Challenging, engaging, and rewarding!

CaradocKaine , GameStop

  • Summary: I absolutely love Second Wave modifiers to give my soldiers and entire game a unique feeling every time! Plus I love the special kill cams with the mech rocket fist, not that the standard uppercut isn't awesome enough, but using it against the Mechtoids, Berserkers, and Sectopods is very stasifying!

Pretty Much the same as Enemy Unknown

Matthew Gilbert, Amazon
2 May 2014
  • Summary: This game is basically the same as the first one, just with new maps and a few extra missions about an anti-XCOM group called Exalt. There is also this thing called Meld that you can collect throughout the missions, use can build facilities to augment your soldiers. The overall storyline is the same. I stopped playing after I beat all the exalt missions and put up all the satellites.

Good, but leaves some to be desired.

Amanda, Amazon
28 April 2014
  • Summary: I really enjoy the add-ons with the meld and the mech units, however, considering the cost, I was a little bit disappointed that it is pretty much the exact same story line as Enemy Unknown. For those who have bought Enemy Unknown, it's a little bit of a slap in the face to have to pay the same price for some added content. It would have been nice if there was just a DLC pack if you already had Enemy Unknown.

Almost a successor to a successor

DCN2049, Amazon
11 April 2014
  • Summary: If you enjoyed Enemy Unknown, then Enemy Within a perfect expansion. The additional "meld" concept adds enough new components to the game without vastly changing the core mechanics. Note that this isn't a whole new game, it's the same as the original Unknown, with added features. The new units and resources add enough demand without swamping the game entirely.

Great Game

Charles E Travis, Amazon
24 March 2014
  • Summary: Honestly it is just a completed version of Enemy Unknown If you liked Enemy Unknown you will love this as long as you don't expect a new game just the same one with more content.

Great game

George Hellmer, Amazon
19 March 2014
  • Summary: It really is the first game with added content. I was hoping for more of a sequel. But this game is great! Strategy and organization building, with some RPG elements. I am an older gamer and this game always ends up sucking up more time then I had intended.

Wish I'd researched a bit more before buying this...

Folly "Folly", Amazon
19 March 2014
  • Summary: Enemy Within froze up three times in the first two hours of playing, forcing me to power-cycle my ps3. This is a well documented issue on various forums for this game, which nearly everyone is experiencing. After those first two hours the freezing wasn't nearly as bad. The game does have nice graphics, and the strategic gameplay can be interesting and fun if you're into that.
