X-Men Origins: Wolverine

  • Conclusion: X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a fun hack and slash, but it won't win any awards for originality. If you're a hardcore Wolverine fan you will both see the movie and buy the game without a second thought, but it's the game that will give you the satisfaction. Just think of it as God of War lite and you're good to go.

Hide The Kids, Wolverine Draws Blood

Game Informer
22 September 2009
  • Conclusion: Concept: An openly violent and bloody comic book game that allows players to sharpen their claws through frenzied hack n' slash combat Graphics: No details are spared in the blood splatters, bullets wounds, torn flesh, or mangled corpses. The environments and cinematic sequences are equally as pleasing to the eye Sound: Hugh Jackman nails his role, and the screams of people in agony made me swallow hard as I continued my onslaught Playability: Unbridled rage accompanies...

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Uncaged Edition

The Gamers Temple
9 July 2009
  • Excerpt: X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a surprising game. Surprising in that it's a game based on a movie that's not flat-out awful. It's not a great game, suffering from the typical repetitive gameplay that plagues action games of this nature, but it's certainly not terrible and can downright fun in stretches.

Expert Review

  • Excerpt: I won't lie, I was pretty disappointed with how the Wolverine movie came out. It was too tame, and it didn't follow the actual storyline of Wolverine's origins very well, either. I also didn't expect to enjoy the game that coincided with the release of the movie, but surprisingly, I actually think I like the game more than the movie. Perhaps after the awful Wolverine's Revenge many years ago, my expectations were low.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

  • Excerpt: Were it not for Wolverine, likely the coolest comic book anti-hero, like, ever, the game of X-Men Origins: Wolverine would probably suffer more criticism. As it stands, flaws be dammed, this is great gory gobs of fun.

X-Men Origins Wolverine

ME Gamers
7 May 2009
  • Excerpt: First Impressions My reaction is Movie-games… even the most optimistic and die-hard fans treat them with skepticism. They have, over the years, been the most shockingly poor games released, despite having a solid story to use as a platform, becoming synonymous with poor gameplay, poor graphics and, most surprisingly, poor stories.
