Summary: all i have to say is that this game had good graphics ( color seemed a bit washed out and dull looking) and online keeps you playing at least, as for 24/7 mode, it was a big let down by thq/yukes, the storylines were the worst in the series, i was disappointed, and gm mode which i dont play at all only to unlock the gm award is just useless and boring, i cant wait til svr09 comes , i ot a feeling svr09o will be the best since smackdown HCTP
If Today's Wrestling Games Are Missing Anything, It's A GM Mode
29 May 2008
Summary: Okay, in retrospect, I was a bit hard on WWE '13 because the gameplay for it was actually relatively decent (I was more upset over the fact that a significant portion of the popular wrestlers were released as DLC instead of being included with the game; I make no apologies for my criticism of WWE 2K14 , however.) Still, the games of today are missing a GM Mode, which lead to me finding this title. So what did I think of it?
Summary: I have not had a wrestling game since the playstation, and I figured i may as well get an updated version, and the price was right. This was on clearance new for a really low price, I figured what a steal. I was wrong. There is a reason for the lower price. Good: The graphics are great, characters real, good introduction to the ring.
Summary: After eagerly anticipating the release of the first PS3 WWE title, and after owning the series for the past 5 years, the day finally came... and boy, was I disappointed. The BAD: Loading, loading and more loading...Every action in the game requires load times. This gets very frustrating. Reduced moveset- with the redesigned controls, although quite a bit easier to use, about 50% of the move choices are gone.
Summary: I have to say that with this years installment of the WWE Smackdown series I am kind of disappointed as it displays a true step back in the progression of the overall series. Here are a few pro's and con's about the game that I think anyone should consider before buying the game. Pro: They have overhauled the control system and fighting styles, for example if you're a high flyer like Rey Mysterio you can pull off some of his very spectacular moves with just a one button...
Excerpt: I buy every Smackdown game like clockwork every year as a big wrestling fan, but even I can't always defend their output, and the 2008 edition has to be probably the worst they've released yet, a game that looks good visually but is utterly riddled with bugs and problems. I must ask why THQ feel the need to change the controls so often: just when you get used to one scheme, they add another wholly confusing one.
A good wrestling game that fans will definitely enjoy. Others might not though.

Excerpt: WWE Smackdon vs Raw is a game that comes out year on year. This is the 2008 edition which will soon be 2 years old. As such you will probably be able to pick it up cheaply. You will get what you expect with this game. It has quite a decent roster of WWE Superstars, along with some classic names from the past to be unlocked. The range of matches you can take part in is massive with pretty much every type of match going that they have on the shows.
