WWE All-Stars

  • Excerpt: Just the kind of over-the-top game that should come from World Wrestling Entertainment, WWE All-Stars takes players back to a much simpler time when wrestling games didn’t need to have expansive rosters of a handful of favorites and a lot of others that are just kind of there to fill things out.

Destructoid

  • Summary: As someone who grew up in the ’80s, I have fond memories of these rubber WWF toys that I’d ricochet all over my house. Drop Hulk Hogan on his rubbery toes in just the right place and he’d spring forward, smashing face-first into an unsuspecting “Macho Man” Randy Savage. Savage would return the favor, and then I’d tumble them around in the air, textbook wrestling moves amped up to a thousand by my overactive child mind. It was pretty awesome.

WWE All Stars Review

  • Excerpt: I once spent half an hour chasing a man who vaguely resembled Hulk Hogan. I was at Reading Festival at the time. Word spread around the campsite - "Hulk Hogan is working at Dunkin' Donuts!" - and then about a hundred of us descended upon a battered trailer in the corner of a muddy field. As the mob began to chant, the lookalike fled - and then we hounded and pursued him across the festival, until the poor bugger received an escort of security guards.

  • Excerpt: I am fully aware of a select few unbelievers out there who insist that the WWE is not real and that the fight outcomes are predetermined. I am also aware that quite a hefty number of those unbelievers also happen to play every WWE game that is released every year. Finally I also happen to know that those purchasers are getting a little annoyed with the biannual releases of increasingly inferior products.

  • Excerpt: First Impressions My reaction is I remember watching wrestling matches on TV and how I would sit glued to the screen as soon as I popped the VHS in (remember VHS?). The magic of the ringside action, the cheering fans, and the flamboyant wrestler entrances made the entire event a worthy spectacle to watch. Of course wrestling has undergone a number of changes since then, but it’s still a lot of fun to watch these incredible athletes in action.
