Excerpt: Wipeout 2 is not a pretty game. Even though it is on the PS3, it looks more like an early PS2 game, to be honest. The tracks themselves look about right, based on what I know of the show. I can't say if they are exact duplicates of what you might find if you were a contestant, but at least the giant red balls (or Big Balls, as the hosts like to say over and over) look correct.
Excerpt: It makes since that the ABC network would want to turn their game show Wipeout into another video game installment. It seems to have everything a good party game would need: crazy obstacle courses just ripe for platforming, zany, colorful characters perfect for making fools of themselves, and a way for other players to make it harder for the person braving the obstacles. With all of this in place, Wipeout 2 certainly has the right formula.
Excerpt: If you haven’t seen it before, Wipeout is a TV show where contestants compete against one another on crazy obstacle courses. These courses are often set up over something gooey or wet in order to maximize hilarity. As zany as the courses are, the real stars of the show are the wipeouts the contestants always end up taking.
