Watchmen: The End is Nigh Complete Experience (PS3) Review

23 September 2009
  • Summary: I came into Watchmen expecting a decent beat-em-up that I could pick up and play for a few minutes and get a good amount of enjoyment from. For once in my life, I was completely wrong.

Watch Your Step

Game Informer
22 September 2009
  • Excerpt: Remember that terrible overpriced download-only Watchmen beat 'em up that came out around the time the movie hit theaters? Now it's packaged with new levels and released at retail in a box. The PS3 version is $50 and includes the movie, and the 360 edition just has the crappy game for $30.

The mandatory movie pack-in makes this shallow yet brutally entertaining action game a questionable value

24 July 2009
  • Summary: The first episode of the Watchmen game was a short beat-'em-up that starred Nite Owl and Rorschach, two of the masked heroes/vigilantes featured in the movie. Punching and kicking your way through wave after wave of goons was enjoyable, thanks to the great animation and simple yet powerful moveset.
  • Pros: Varied arsenal of attacks, Animations have a great sense of impact, Resonates well with Watchmen saga
  • Cons: Still no online co-op, Can get repetitive, Bad value for anyone who already owns any of the components
