Wanted Corp review

GamesRadar
23 June 2012
  • Excerpt: The screen is ablaze with chaotic action. Our two heroes are on a barge, floating on a river surrounded by enemies. Massive apes swoop in from above, exact a toll, then quickly jump back to safety; meanwhile, ancient Asian wizards launch magical missiles straight at us and miniature mechs keep firing their lasers.
  • Pros: Nifty weaponry and skills, Blasting away with mechs, Co-op is genuinely fun
  • Cons: Controls are kinda clunky, Last-gen sound and visuals, Not much replay value

GameSpot

  • Excerpt: When you're creating an interstellar mercenary agency that handles jobs on alien planets, not even the sky is the limit. Although Wanted Corp has some nice imaginative touches, the action remains disappointingly down to earth. Fighting your way through hostile natives and capturing escaped fugitives in this dual-stick shooter is mildly satisfying at best and dull and repetitive at worst.
  • Pros: Environments and enemies have some exotic flair, PlayStation Move controls enable sharp aiming
  • Cons: Two arsenals are not well developed, Abrasive characters, Some awkward ability controls

  • Excerpt: Just as my iPad is quick becoming the place developers are sending all their physics-based puzzlers, my consoles, especially their online marketplaces, are getting to be the place I can expect to find all manner of dual-stick shooters. I blame last year's excellent Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light as the catalyst for the deluge, and let's just say not all the games that have followed have been all that great. The latest dual-stick download is Zoo Corp.

  • Excerpt: In 1978, the world was introduced to Boba Fett (and the Star Wars Holiday Special, but let’s forget about that), a character that returned in The Empire Strikes Back and established a basic law...
  • Pros: + Enjoyable game play, + Online and offline co-op, + Short levels make the game easy to pick up and put down
  • Cons: Weak story, Poor voice acting, Unfriendly controls
