Wall-E

Playstation Illustrated
3 January 2009
  • Excerpt: Presentation is easily Wall-E 's best feature. As far as looks, everything is about as close to the movie as it can get, so the game looks sharp. However, the real magic is in how well the game is able to capture the movie's unique feel. Wall-E is less a story about a little robot that is left behind to clean up a trash-filled Earth and more about someone who is just lonely.

WALL-E

Video Game Generation
20 September 2008
  • Summary: For those of you looking for a recap of my review, I’m sorry to disappoint you, but I can sum this up pretty quickly: WALL·E is not the worst licensed game I’ve ever played, but it's far from being one of the better Pixar adaptations. If the latter is what you’re looking for, I recommend you head to your store, grab the Ratatouille DVD and game for your system of choice and make a family affair of it for the weekend.
  • Pros: Won’t spoil the story?, Plenty of extras to unlock., Mildly enjoyable multiplayer.
  • Cons: Unpolished gameplay., Graphics lack expression., Painful techno soundtrack.

WALL•E

Evil Avatar
7 July 2008
  • Excerpt: First off, even though I don’t have children, I feel pretty safe in saying that this is an excellent game for a child and especially for one that has seen the movie. The game itself covers all the stuff we saw in the movie and adds a few extras along the way. It also contains a myriad of gameplay aspects from basic action/adventure to shooter.

GameSpot
3 July 2008
  • Summary: The main reason Pixar movies are so revered is that they are able to appeal to both adults and children at the same time. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the games based on these movies. Wall-E follows in the path of many cartoon adaptations before it--taking the wholesome aesthetic and crafting a trivial game around it while ignoring a large part of the film's audience in the process.
  • Pros: Inviting presentation, Well-constructed cutscenes, Flying sections are fun
  • Cons: Gameplay is too simple, Shooting sections seem out of place, Worthless multiplayer, Unlockables aren't exciting

  • Excerpt: It always pains me to watch an amazing movie like WALL-E and then subject myself to playing its videogame counterpart, only to be absolutely unimpressed. Truth be told, I actually played WALL-E days before seeing the movie, and I found it to be no different than other movie-to-game adaptations.

Wall-E

areagames.de
26 August 2008
  • Conclusion: Die Steuerung kann durchaus überzeugen.
