Summary: Don't both trying to play this is you don't have a gamepad or if you are using a laptop. Viking suffers from a terrible port job and there is a huge framerate problem on notebooks that makes the game unplayable. Also, for people who get dizzy easily, the game is capped at 30 FPS so be wary. It's unfortunate since Viking really isn't that bad of a game. You get an open world where you go around slaughtering enemies and rescuing other Vikings.
Summary: Another poorly done console port. An major aspect of this game, the combat, is completely broken. I suppose it IS possible to get a game pad and play as though you're on a console, but it's very limiting. I highly recommend avoiding this.
Summary: God, I hate this game. I tried to like it, I really did. The story is engaging, the environments are interesting, the enemies are unique, and the characters are decent. The problem lies in the combat. Take the insane amounts of enemies of a Dynasty Warriors game mixed with the frustratingly hard combat of Ninja Gaiden and you have Viking. Enemies are constantly attacking you, so you spend most of the time blocking.
Summary: This game was a lot of fun. Sure, the graphics are average and there are some technical issues, it can even get repetitive, but a lot of my favorite games weren't technically sound. I did have fun every minute though.
Summary: So, its definately similar to other sega games, and to me is mostly a slash and hack game, and is very simliar to this genre. i say that becuase you pick up the "life force" of slain enmies, and steal there spirit. Now, I understand its 2013 and this game is old. Iunderstand that there are newer games out there. But I have been looking for something ENJOYABLE and FUN to play. This is hard though, but it is fun and challenging.
Summary: I enjoy playing Viking! It is a good looking PS3 game with a beautiful open world environment, so there is plenty of exploring to do and places to visit. There are a couple of things that keep this game from being AAA, but even so it remains a fun and challenging game. The camera takes getting use to. It is 100% under your control all the time, and you have to learn how to work with it while fighting for your life!
Summary: Viking: Battle for Asgard for PC is a horrible console-port. The keyboard bindings are awful and re-binding doesn't help a single bit. Though graphics are the only quite decent thing in the game but bad porting isn't the only thing making this game bad. Even in the beginning the game and its story are quite confusing and dull, and the NPCs or the combat mechanics don't support this game.
