Summary: This game comes so close to being an amazing game, but falls so short at the same time. In the last half of the game, I repeatedly found myself thinking "how was I suppose to know that?" You will continually find yourself in situations you couldn't possibly be prepared for and the vast majority of the time the challenge feels artificial.
Summary: First, let me state that I recognize what follows is a minority opinion, based on all the 5-star reviews here on Amazon. I can understand why so many people love this game. I just wanted to offer a different perspective to let potential buyers know that not every player is necessarily going to have a 5-star experience. Please keep in mind that I did not hate this game, just didn't love it. Hence, my 3-star "middle of the spectrum" rating.
Summary: I'm a fan of tactical RPGs and I've played many of them, and after reading many well written reviews about the game (both positive and negative), I decided to buy it. Here are some observations about the game that would have affected my decision to buy: 1. The music is really repetitive. 2. The game is fairly easy. 3. The gameplay is repetitive. VC does try to spice things up a little, but generally speaking, you'll be doing the same thing repeatedly. 4.
Summary: First, I rentend this game because the title was very similar to Valkyrie Chronicles, which, I didn't like, but I love Square/Enix games from the pre-Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior day to Final Fantasy XIII. I thought this was another SE RPG, but I was quite mistaken. So, this low-rated review comes from one who loves Final Fantasy, and for the most part, the newer the better.
Summary: I purchased this game "Valkyria Chronicles" (from Amaazon.com)for the Playstation3 as a Christmas gift for my grandson who had requested it. He seems to enjoy the game, so it was a success. Not having played it myself, I cannot comment further, therefore, giving it a mid-rating.
No good RTS No good FPS Decent RPG, DOES NOT = a good game

Summary: Someone in an earlier review stated that this game plays like a beta; it really does. This game just feels sloppy to me. Enemies often go kamikaze and run at you one at a time because the game won't let you assault at once; and they'll just stand there next to you waiting for their turn to shoot you in the face if you don't have 3 people returning fire. MAKES NO SENSE.
Summary: This game has a lot of issues. It could've been much better if they focused on the actual game rather than loading it up with so many cinematics. For every one battle, you're going to have like 3-4 cinematics to watch. Some of them are very long. After a point I just got so bored and skipped through all the cinematics. I thought this is supposed to be a game not an anime movie. I wish they would've spent more time improving the actual game itself.
Summary: I'll keep this simple. Overall the game is good. It's addictive. Unfortunately, this game is FULL of bugs and glitches that leave you feeling cheated most of the time. I recommend this game to anyone who loves war games or strategy games. Just be prepared to fight through the frustration.
Play through the frustration, and you might become addicted...

Summary: Most of the points I'd make about VC have been covered by other reviewers, so I'll just touch on a few things I think are important: The first few missions in the game progress pretty swiftly, as you guide 2-4 characters through some short maps as you get the hang of things. Then all of a sudden you're given a bunch of new menus for the 20+ characters added to your squad, each of whom have strengths and weaknesses (though thankfully all members in a class level up...
