Excerpt: An evil alien race known as the Necris is on the prowl, but one man stands in the path of destruction. Ok, so the story in Unreal Tournament III is rather thin, does it matter? The single player campaign puts you in the shoes of Reaper, a one man wrecking crew who does battle with the alien menace. Reaper has access to tons of kickass weapons, wicked vehicles, and even some cool power ups, but the fight won’t be a simple one.
Summary: In UT3, you assume the role of a futuristic warrior engaged in contests of intense shooting battles against skilled opponents, controlled by human contestants online or by AI, fought with the most powerful sci-fi weapons and vehicles.
Conclusion: Whatever UTIII lacks in offerings right now (and I can't find one among them beyond stuff from older games), the mod community will add. If that doesn't demonstrate this whole "Game 3.0" concept perfectly, I don't know what does. Seriously, go buy it.
Conclusion: UT3 is in no way a new car right off of the assembly line, but it’s your old ride that has been pimped-out to maximum performance. Every PS3 owner should own this game, because so far it offers one the biggest online community to date, (competing with Warhawk and Resistance) with loyal fans filling the servers in a fight to wear the crown of the best UT3 player.
Excerpt: Unreal and Unreal Tournament are two of the most well known and highly respected arena-based first person shooters out there. Fast approaching its tenth anniversary, there's no doubt that Unreal's spin-off, Unreal Tournament, is perhaps the prime contributor to the series' success. I can't begin to count the amount of hours I've poured into Unreal Tournament across every capable PC I've owned.
Excerpt: This is a good solid game with some interesting concepts around vehicles and weapons. It sits well on the console, both single- and multi-player. A definite must buy if you have any interest in first person shooters.
Pros: A great port from the PC version that only gains from the transition. Smooth and fast combat with some great visuals.
Cons: Hunting down the announcer and dealing to the annoying voice over is not a game option.
