Reviews and Problems with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Showing 1-10 of 19
One of the Most Overrated Games Ever.

Summary: I cannot comprehend how this game could possibly get so many good reviews. Anyone who has played a quality adventure should see this game as a complete farce. I watched game play of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune online and was very skeptical, but after reading all the great reviews of it I decided to purchase it. The fact that this game is labeled "adventure" is laughable. This is a very linear and tedious third person shooter.
Summary: The story line is great. The graphics are 7 out of 10. The characters are OK. The language in this game could be considered a bit vulgar and mostly geared for boys. This game's biggest pitfall is that it doesn't have "auto aim" option. You waste lots of time aiming to shoot at the bad guys while they don't have to aim. This game is outahere... God of War is the game.
Craptastic Gears Of War Clone wih some humdrum platforming thrown in

Summary: Update - from two stars to one. OK, this game is officially pure S&*#! Even the platforming is broken. There's a spot where you need to jump on narrow ledges later in the game and it is a FREAKING herculean feat to just jump forward. You 9 out 10 times (and I know from experience, *REAL STATISTIC!) will jump either just a little too far right, or just a little too far left and die again and again. AND THAT'S JUST STANDING STILL!
Summary: First of all: Game of the Year? I'd love to know what the runner-ups were that year. The gameplay is extremely simple and is not at all satisfying. After two hours of playing I turned the game off and was filled with buyers regret. Game of the year...How the hell did this not get thrown into a shredder when it first came out?? Let me point out what is actually GOOD here since that list is much shorter.
Status quo for a console, but still not a very good game.

Summary: This is almost a rail shooter with a lot of jump "puzzles". All puzzles in Drake's fortune require patient effort, none require ingenuity. I've played for 4 hours and the mix seems to be 100% timing and position and 0% ingenuity. I'd prefer at least 80/20 or 60/40. I found myself waiting for the shooting portions, but the fire arm controls are terrible on the PS3 so these were more frustrating then fun, if only because contemporary PS3 games do a much better job.
Summary: The gameplay is extremely linear. There are no advancements, no options, no health bar even! The combat is annoying and hard to get used to, plus I hope you like emptying an entire magazine into a single target before they die. The "plot" is moronic. Worst game I've ever played.
Summary: This game is not utterly terrible, but it's yet another example of how new generation gamers' priorities are forcing a major shift in the game industry. This is practically the poster child for what is wrong with a lot of the games today. With the coming of xbox, ps3 and wii we have a generation of gamers clamoring for high end graphics, holywood style cinematics, and mind-numbing ease of playability.
