UFC Personal Trainer (PS3)

EL33TONLINE

  • Excerpt: Gaming is not very good for you. You will sit in front of a monitor or television for hours on end without moving much more than your thumbs. On the odd occasion you will have to get up to use the facilities and maybe grab something to eat, and even then it’s junk food. No wonder most of us look like slobs. Or so the media would like to portray most of us gamers.

UFC Personal Trainer Review

ME Gamers
31 July 2011
  • Excerpt: First Impressions My reaction is I’m sweating profusely and I can hear my heartbeat throbbing in my ears. My legs are sore and I am aching to sit down, but I glance nervously at the clock that says that I still have another 30 seconds to go. I summon whatever willpower I have left and push myself one more time, then again, and again until the buzzer sounds and I slouch on the floor in triumph. Welcome to the world of UFC Personal Trainer: The Ultimate Fitness System.

UFC Personal Trainer

Auracore MediaWorks
7 July 2011
  • Summary: This game hates you and wants to whip you into shape
  • Pros: Surprisingly intense workout system will yield real results if you stick with it; a good variety of exercises and activities; hitting the mitts really makes you feel like a UFC fighter; good mix of fun and fitness; uses the UFC licence to great effect.
  • Cons: Tough-love approach will alienate the unmotivated; some workouts might be too intense and difficult for the average gamer; graphical presentation and audio design is bare bones and repetitive; a few detection problems on the Kinect; the Wii and PlayStation Move versions are more limited.

UFC Personal Trainer review

Gamedot
5 August 2011
  • Conclusion: That said this is the ultimate problem with any game of this type. It is no substitute for getting out there and doing it for real. The Kinect is a very young piece of technology and is utilising game themes. Can it make you a fighter? That’s extremely doubtful. One thing it can never simulate is how good of a punch you can take. Can it help in making you a fitter person? Hell yes it can. I lost 2lbs just playing this for review.
  • Cons: Crap as a game. Voice work isn’t the best. Poor selection of mini games.

UFC Personal Trainer: The Ultimate Fitness System – The PS3 Attitude Review

PS3 Attitude
14 June 2011
  • Conclusion: One final note on the UFC branding; this isn’t limited to MMA fans. Sure, you’ll hit punching bags and listen to trainers as they enthuse about the sport and try to teach you its moves, but these MMA exercises are simply great exercises. We said at the beginning that UFC fighters are some of the best conditioned athletes around, so you’d be foolish to ignore their training routines because it’s associated with fighting.
