Transformers: Dark of the Moon
11 November 2013
Excerpt: Transformers: Dark of the Moon is very pretty; the environments are lush and the models are detailed, although, since I haven't seen the movie yet, I can't speak to how accurate the models actually are. Still, they all have an appearance similar to the first Michael Bay Transformers movie, so I expect that the models are pretty close. The one thing I found a bit odd is that almost every transformer in the game transformed into a land vehicle (i.e., car or truck)...
Excerpt: Transformers: Dark of the Moon is the third game in the Transformers movie-based series. Unlike the first two games, Dark of the Moon is developed by High Moon Studios, the development team behind the popular War for Cybertron games. With a new gameplay style, good graphics, and great sound, Transformers: Dark of the Moon takes a completely different approach that makes it perhaps the best of the movie-based games.
Pros: Very fun gameplay, special moves add variety, colorful and detailed gameplay graphics, epic sounding soundtrack and voice-overs
Cons: Not as fun as the War for Cybertron games, story could have been better and longer, graphics look ugly on specific parts
Conclusion: Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a good game for those who have seen the three Michael Bay directed movies, based on the toys, and who have become familiar enough with the robots to be able to name them and then recite their backstories and abilities. This means that the most hardcore fans can find some enjoyment in the game, but this will probably come in spite of and not because of the design decisions made by the developers and the publisher.
Summary: With Transformers: Dark of the Moon , High Moon Studios has arguably faced its toughest and lowest-aspiring challenge yet; a movie tie-in. They’ve proven they know how to make a good game based on a film (even if it is technically based upon another piece of the franchise). The Bourne Conspiracy was a fantastic voyage into the world of Bourne , letting you perfectly experience the feel of being the ex-agent.
Excerpt: The third Transformers movie is out and the folks at High Moon Studios decided to come along for the ride. As you can expect, Activision was prepared to ensure a video game release just ahead of the Michael Bay blockbuster summer film that shares its title. While the verdict is not yet out on the movie as of this writing, the Transformers: Dark of the Moon game is very much a settled deal.
Excerpt: I’m a sucker for licensed games. Not because they’re the greatest thing the industry has to offer (quite frankly they generally disappoint) but because they’re a easy to play and quick to complete. Sometimes, they boost your Trophy/Achievement count in a matter of hours...Don’t act like you didn’t know! In the case of the Transformers license, the first titles to come out in the current generation of consoles weren’t that great.
Pros: - Viele Transformers spielbar, - Guter Sound, - Grafisch Top
Cons: - zu kurze Spieldauer, - Team-KI nicht immer optimal, - Sehr linear
