Summary: Basically, Top Spin 3 is a tennis game that tries to overcomplicate itself in order to take the title of "most realistic tennis game." I don't think thats a good thing. The career mode is very linear and doesn't give you much room to do much. If you really need to play another Tennis game the only thing recomending this game is the online play, which is atleast competitive on the PS3.
Excerpt: Topspin games have always been my favourites among other tennis games. When compared to Virtua Tennis, Topspin is a step above every time. This game is similar to the past versions in the way that it offers a realistic tennis simulation. Unlike Virtua Tennis, the game can vary from slow and steady action to fast and furious. This is a realistic game, rather than an arcade game.
Excerpt: Top Spin 3 I thought that this was a great game and it gives you the ultimate tennis gaming experience. The game lets you play as players like Federer, Nadal or even Becker. The tournament mode on this game is truly awesome and the very hard level is quite challenging. In my opinion this game is well worth the money and you should consider buying. Even the small details are covered, e.g. the weather changes, you get dirtier as the match comes to a conclusion.
Pros: This game has great gameplay, graphics and very realistic .
Cons: The only problem after playing for a while is that you can start to get a bit bored .
Excerpt: Topspin is one of the most challenging yet rewarding tennis games Iv'e played. It is most definitely a simulation in comparison to the more arcade feeling Virtua Tennis. I found Topspin quite hard to grasp at first. It definitely takes some getting used to, as the controls are quite complex. At first I was struggling to return shots let alone win matches. After about an hour though I felt I was starting to master the controls.
A fantasic tennis simulation let down by a poor online mode.

Excerpt: I must admit to being skeptical when I was recommended Top Spin 3 by a friend. Like most, the only tennis game I have ever played growing up was Virtua Tennis, certainly a fun pick up and play game but it never lasted on me. So I was hoping that in purchasing Top Spin 3 I would be getting a proper tennis simulation game and that is the case. What I found was that Top Spin 3 is a great game with a few flaws that let it down which if improved would make it a superb game.
A very decent tennis game and certianly one of the better efforts on the market

Excerpt: I found myself liking topspin 3 but also hating it at times as well, but I would probably say that the good things outweight the bad ones. I will start by saying that the game has a very steep learning curve and is very hard to master so some persitence will be needed with this game. The game can definetly leave you feeling very frustrated at times with the controls being very hard to master.
Conclusion: Top Spin 3 is a good game but lacks in depth and originality, shots are better and more advanced than Virtual Tennis but this game still lacks something. It is fun to play with others but I think the novelty of signal player career mode will run out with most people within a couple of weeks.
Conclusion: The games got outstanding graphics and realistic gameplay but its not a game that'll last you a long time. The gameplay involves seemingly endless rallies and i find the game doesn't offer enough variety atall. The career mode is fairly well made but its not as exiting as you would expect.
A good realistic tennis game but gets very boring.

Excerpt: I brought this after Virtua Tennis became out of date and it being Game of the Week during Wimbledon. The game is very different but it is still fun. It is very realistic but also hard to play. The graphics are very good but not as good as Virtua Tennis. However, they still look great. The soundtrack is very good and the game has no framerate issues. The gameplay is very fun and much more realistic then Virtua Tennis.
Excerpt: I've always enjoyed playing tennis games on consoles, and Top Spin 3 is easily the best and most realistic tennis game yet. The attention to details by the game developers is quite simply impressive. From the way the players get progressively tired and missing shots as a match drags on, to the sweat on the players' faces and attire to match the level of fatigue, to the authentic sounds of the tennis bounce and hits, and to the way one has to exercise proper positioning...
Pros: Very realistic; tremendous attention to details; Good career mode
Cons: Very steep learning game; Frustrating game - play at times; Can get repetitive after a while
