R6 V2 - meh, nothing new
9 May 2008
Summary: Pros: Excellent Graphics, Improved AI, Solid Concluding story line which continues from the first. Multi-player options galour. Cons: Little orchestrated game content (whatever happened to the 60hr game for $50) $60 is a bit much for a 5 hour game. LOS while hiding behind cover gives an advantage to campers; hence, rewards and promote sit and hide behavior (ZzzzZzzz).
Summary: This game is very fun in the beginning but get boring after a while. It has the same graphics as the previous on and it wasn't as fun as i thought it would be. But none the less it was funner than the last one.
3/5 stars. Not as good as some other Tom Clancy games.

Excerpt: When I recently read up on Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, I thought "This game is for me!". I have always been a fan of the Tom Clancy games, in particular Splinter Cell, due to the stealthy game play (which makes a nice change from most shooters these days). Rainbow 6 however is slightly less stealthy than Splinter Cell, as it is a combination of a first-person shooter and a tactical shooter.
Excerpt: I have mixed feelings about Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I really enjoyed the first title but this one feels a bit dated. The graphics have a murky look to them. Nothing looks sharp and crisp, it has a very dull look to it. Playing this on a HDTV I expected more. The graphics looked impressive on the first title but that was a while back now. Despite this, the game is still very fun to play. Breeching into a room with flashbangs and silencers is still awesome to pull off.
Excerpt: I brought this game after loving the first one, but after playing for awhile, I have to say this is more of the same and nothing has been improved. The game had lots of hype and was considered to be a COD 4 destroyer. However, this game doesn't bring the goods and is very boring. The story mode isn't very good and doesn't keep you hooked. It gets boring after awhile but is ok in co-op mode if with a mate. The graphics are very good but the soundtrack is poor.
Excerpt: I was a real fan of the first Vegas game and therefore chose to purchase this on the day it was released. I was left feeling a little deflated. The game seems to have taken no steps forward, even the graphics are basically the same standard as the first game which was my major gripe. The story mode is good and i did enjoy completing it, wasn't the most in depth game of all time but gave a good amount of game time.
