Summary: A decent game....Some of the variants of planes available were questionable; They didn't need the outdated F-5A when there was already the F-5E and F-20 Tigershark present; too many unnecessary variants. The old Mid 21 and A-7 Corsair didn't need to be there as well.
Summary: Above the clouds the game in terms of graphics and action sets new standards though, is playful but still room for improvement. The idea of the back story is interesting in the game but rather unimportant.
Summary: the game has good graphics and a good level of action. a major problem for those who like simulators is that the maneuvers "high level" can only be performed with the wizard mode and enabled in the third person. Or I have not found the option to change camera.
Summary: Ok, for the record, I am an avid fan of the movie, and I have played just about every flight sim out there. Tom Clancy's first outing is not with out it's short comings, but I have to say, this game will make you feel like you are Maverick and Goose. The combat is frantic.
Summary: I like all Tom Clancy's games, and this one in particular is okay, I think it takes to long to level up or reach a high rank. I don't like the fact that I can't play all three difficulties in campaign using the same call name.
Summary: This is a pretty good game and worth the price. My son and I have played and it gets pretty hard in some levels but overall is fun and realistic. It is more difficult to play when the flight assist is off and the views make it hard to line up a target but still enjoy playing.
Summary: I was looking for something different to play and I rented this, this being my first console flight sim I was enthralled by the visuals, the feeling of speed and the pure pleasure of hearing the ring announcing that you have a lock and you're free to fire missiles is really just exhilarating.
Excerpt: Let's face it, the PS3 is lacking in the flight combat genre. When the PS2 was the current Playstation console, there was always Ace Combat. However, we have yet to see Ace Combat make a debut on the PS3 (Why Namco, why?), so HAWX has made an attempt to fill the void.
