Review: Tokyo Jungle Mobile is too little game for Playstation Vita

GameZone
22 October 2012
  • Excerpt: Tokyo Jungle Mobile walks a fine line between feeling like a competent, bite-sized version of the original Tokyo Jungle and feeling more like a Tiger handheld port of a much better game.

Tokyo Jungle Review

G4
25 September 2012
  • Summary: While Tokyo Jungle may have piqued our interest with its original concept and menagerie of animals to play as, the arcade survival game falls short in several areas. With repetitive gameplay, a lack of variety, and mechanics that often waste your time, we found that only hardcore completionists are...
  • Pros: Lots of animals to unlock, Great for completitionists, An original concept
  • Cons: Way too repetitive, Terrible mechanics that constantly waste your time, Not enough variety between animals

Expert Review

GameSpot
18 September 2012
  • Summary: It has always been a dog-eat-dog world out there. But when humanity disappears and animals are left to fend for themselves, the streets of Tokyo become a far more savage place, where former house pets must learn to hunt and kill much larger, more deadly animals to survive.
  • Pros: Novel concept that leads to plenty of laughs, Lively, sometimes surprising world
  • Cons: Shallow stealth mechanics and combat, Repetitive structure, Unattractive visuals and grating music

Tokyo Jungle review

GamesRadar
13 September 2012
  • Excerpt: Arriving stateside after a successful run in Japan, Sony’s Tokyo Jungle has enjoyed a modest amount of positive buzz. Most of this stems from its unique concept: In the near future humanity disappears, and you play as one of dozens of different animal species trying to survive in the ruins of a...
  • Pros: Wild, imagination-sparking concept, Wide variety of animals to be/eat/fear, Budget price point
  • Cons: Repetitive, unexciting gameplay, Animals all play the same, Random acts of God

Tokyo Jungle review

Gameplanet
21 November 2012
  • Summary: A kind of simulated survival game, Tokyo Jungle sees players assuming the role of animals - from once-domesticated pets to wild lions - and battling for the survival of their species in post-apocalyptic Tokyo. The concept is clever but a lack of polish holds the game back.
  • Pros: Strong novelty factor. The survival mode is boss. Hilarious sound effects. Unlockable dinosaurs. Hunting is cathartic.
  • Cons: The camera foils stealth at times. Terrible music. Underwhelming story mode. Repetitive. Large gaps between unlocking story mode chapters and cooler animals. Fleas.

Tokyo Jungle Review | The Hunger Games

Dealspwn
18 September 2012
  • Conclusion: The Short Version: Tokyo Jungle is proof that vision and execution are both qualities of the utmost immportance. In spite of having one of the freshest concepts of the year and a budget price point in the West, Tokyo Jungle can only really hint towards potential, as its execution turns a promising...
  • Pros: Fantastic concept, Lots of unlockables, Hints towards a surprisingly compelling game when it clicks
  • Cons: But that doesn't happen very often, Core gameplay is horribly repetitive and boring, Dubious level design and presentation

Anmeldelse: Tokyo Jungle

joypad.dk
3 April 2014
  • Pros: - Sjov tosset humor, - Mange dyr at vælge imellem

  • Pros: Originalt spilkoncept, Mange dyrearter, Skarp kontrol, Nemt at mestre
  • Cons: Låste valgmuligheder, Langsommelig udvikling, Ikke tilstrækkeligt vanedannende, Grafisk kantet

Tokyo Jungle

Gamereactor
18 September 2012
  • Conclusion: Något har gått riktigt snett i Tokyo.
