The Walking Dead

  • Excerpt: Upon completion of a certain part in Telltale’s The Walking Dead video game, I sat back and wondered whether I had made the right choice given the options available. I justified the actions I took over and over again, but it still didn’t soothe my soul.  Later in the day, the weight of the decision making got to me and I blurted out to a friend “I was responsible for someone dying!

The Walking Dead Review (PS3)

About.com
17 September 2012
  • Conclusion: The Walking Dead Image © Telltale Games "The Walking Dead" has become more than just a comic book and a TV show. It's a true phenomenon. And the video game adaptation of it could have been a complete corruption of the source material -- an action game where shooting zombies is more important than comforting survivors. Telltale Games has not only treated their inspiration with the correct amount of respect but added to its canon in their own spectacular way.

The Walking Dead: Episode 1 - A New Day Review

PlayStation Universe
12 August 2012
  • Summary: A New Day proves to be Telltale Games' best outing in the adventure genre in recent memory--if not, ever. This is episodic gaming done right, and just like The Walking Dead TV show, we can't wait for the next episode.
  • Pros: Very 'human' cast of characters, Story is engaging, characters evolve nicely, Great cell-shaded art keeps the game super stylized and pretty
  • Cons: Slight audio/visual hiccups

Expert Review

Game Freaks 365
14 July 2012
  • Excerpt: The Walking Dead Episode 2: Starved for Help is easily the tensest game I have played since the original Dead Space. Even the first episode of The Walking Dead did not have me questioning my dialogue and actions as much as the second episode. Instead of the undead being at the forefront of this episode, Telltale Games has placed the emphasis on human interaction and given us a reason to fear the way humans think.

The Walking Dead: Episode 1 - A New Day

Digital Chumps
1 July 2012
  • Conclusion: An underappreciated aspect of the interactive zombie apocalypse is the realization that you don’t get to pick your friends. Other prerequisites like the harrowing recognition of mortality and splendid instances gore are also present, but survival seems more dependent on how well one can manage their new acquaintances.

The Dead Live!

GIN
14 May 2012
  • Excerpt: Being the local zombie nut at GiN, it fell to me to review The Walking Dead game. Being a fan of the show and all things zombies led me to believe that I was going to be disappointed at a sad attempt to cash in on the success of a well known series'but luckily, I was mistaken. The Walking Dead was my first jump into an adventure done by Telltale.
