Buggy but fun if you get it on the cheap and a LotR fan.

Summary: This game could have been really good if it was supported well by the developers and had some of its major issues addressed by a patch, the game has some very faulty and ruining glitches to it (i.e look into the Mirkwood glitch for more details). Which is too bad because overall, I actually enjoyed this game. Would have easily given it a 4 star if it wasn't so buggy.
Summary: I love this game. I wish it was a bit more "open world" though. The big problem is the famous glitch that everyone speaks about. You get to a point where you can't progress through the game anymore...and you can't even start anew with the progress you've made on your characters. Huge fail. I've been told the developer could make a patch..but it's been 4 years at the time of this review so that's not likely to happen. It's fun for a while..
Summary: I thought this game was really fun but I got caught by the game ending glitch. if they ever decide to patch it I will up my stars. Research the glitches in this game before you play and you might make it through the whole game. I still have yet to start a new game out of frustration.
Summary: A lot of people have been commenting on how buggy this game is. Sadly, I was not spared the glitches. I was about just about the play the final chapter of the game when I got stuck between two checkpoints in Norinbad, and unable to advance any further. Very angry about this. The game itself tells a story not detailed by either Tolkien or CGI-obsessed nutcase Peter Jackson, but does take place in the latter's expansive LOTR universe.
Summary: Beautiful graphics, great storyline and a lot of fun! Yes, the game has glitches and bugs! My first time playing LotR: WitN, I got stuck in the Mirkwood. The game didn't provide me with the staff to progress to the next mission. I was extremely disappointed because the game is really remarkable. I decided to re-play the game from the beginning and pay extreme attention to the game progress to prevent any glitches.
Summary: I was playing this game with a friend in co-op mode over a weekend and we were really enjoying the story, battles, and graphics - right up to the point where we were defending the fortress and had to face 2 trolls. The green bar that depicts the state of our defence was already halfway down when the trolls attacked and we were unable to go back to the beginning of the battle and try the first phase again.
Summary: I am a huge Tolkien / Lord of the Rings fan so when I stumbled across War in the North I just had to have it. Despite some annoying gameplay bugs and Co-Op bugs I do not regret my purchase one bit, but what could of been a decent 4 star titles sadly gets knocked down to 3 stars. The Issues/Bugs I had with this game will be in a separate section ( CONS ) GAMEPLAY This is classic hack n' slash RPG here and the gameplay is one of the big elements that makes this game...
Summary: I bought this game for coop play with my wife and I was not disappointed. We thoroughly enjoyed Borderlands and have been searching for something to replace that void. Finally, we found a great coop experience in Lord of the Rings: War in the North. First of all, I will say there are many similarities to Borderlands. You level up and then assign attribute points (strength, dexterity, etc) and then assign a skill point to a skill tree (a la Borderlands).
Excerpt: I have to say this game wasn't what I expected. It is set in the Lord of the Rings world but I didn't think it was a particular new game. The concept is very much the same as previous games because you play a character fighting in a war; of course, there are still orcs to kill and all sorts of creatures to battle but it doesn't feel exactly new which is a shame because I am a big fan of Lord of the Rings.
