Glitch still not fixed

JaredK, Amazon
8 June 2014
  • Summary: I thought this game was really fun but I got caught by the game ending glitch. if they ever decide to patch it I will up my stars. Research the glitches in this game before you play and you might make it through the whole game. I still have yet to start a new game out of frustration.

It was good up until it stopped working

Inspector Gadget "Go Go Gadget Reviews", Amazon
15 April 2013
  • Summary: A lot of people have been commenting on how buggy this game is. Sadly, I was not spared the glitches. I was about just about the play the final chapter of the game when I got stuck between two checkpoints in Norinbad, and unable to advance any further. Very angry about this. The game itself tells a story not detailed by either Tolkien or CGI-obsessed nutcase Peter Jackson, but does take place in the latter's expansive LOTR universe.

Awesome Game!

Josef Rodriguez, Amazon
24 January 2013
  • Summary: Beautiful graphics, great storyline and a lot of fun! Yes, the game has glitches and bugs! My first time playing LotR: WitN, I got stuck in the Mirkwood. The game didn't provide me with the staff to progress to the next mission. I was extremely disappointed because the game is really remarkable. I decided to re-play the game from the beginning and pay extreme attention to the game progress to prevent any glitches.

Learn how to create your save points first

D. J. Duke, Amazon
4 January 2013
  • Summary: I was playing this game with a friend in co-op mode over a weekend and we were really enjoying the story, battles, and graphics - right up to the point where we were defending the fortress and had to face 2 trolls. The green bar that depicts the state of our defence was already halfway down when the trolls attacked and we were unable to go back to the beginning of the battle and try the first phase again.

A Decent Hack n' Slash RPG Held Back by Bugs...

Jason, Amazon
15 November 2011
  • Summary: I am a huge Tolkien / Lord of the Rings fan so when I stumbled across War in the North I just had to have it. Despite some annoying gameplay bugs and Co-Op bugs I do not regret my purchase one bit, but what could of been a decent 4 star titles sadly gets knocked down to 3 stars. The Issues/Bugs I had with this game will be in a separate section ( CONS ) GAMEPLAY This is classic hack n' slash RPG here and the gameplay is one of the big elements that makes this game...

Awesome Coop Experience - Overall Good Game

TJDyl, Amazon
7 November 2011
  • Summary: I bought this game for coop play with my wife and I was not disappointed. We thoroughly enjoyed Borderlands and have been searching for something to replace that void. Finally, we found a great coop experience in Lord of the Rings: War in the North. First of all, I will say there are many similarities to Borderlands. You level up and then assign attribute points (strength, dexterity, etc) and then assign a skill point to a skill tree (a la Borderlands).

Playable But Lacking Something

lisalou2020, Dooyoo
23 October 2014
  • Excerpt: I have to say this game wasn't what I expected. It is set in the Lord of the Rings world but I didn't think it was a particular new game. The concept is very much the same as previous games because you play a character fighting in a war; of course, there are still orcs to kill and all sorts of creatures to battle but it doesn't feel exactly new which is a shame because I am a big fan of Lord of the Rings.
  • Pros: "A New chapter in Lord of the Rings"
  • Cons: Repetitive

Nice but has a few downers.

eddyishard, Play.com
4 January 2012
  • Conclusion: Game is good, I played the game through 3 times and maxed my character out in the best armour and weopns i could get, The biggest down fall to this game is that it becomes very easy, the 2nd play through was a breeze as was the third. Game has a major bug also, if you play as dwarf and use the fire on the arrow move it will kill any enemy in one shot or 2 or 3 shots for bosses, this is based on if you have a good enough shotbow, Most broken thing in game, makes it not...

Co-op pointless

helen1604, Play.com
4 January 2012
  • Conclusion: Brilliant one player game but it is nigh on impossable to save with any consistancy when playing as a two player co-op. This is due to a software glitch and has made what should have been a great Birthday gift for my other half a waste of money. Such a shame as the gameplay is great.
