Summary: Ran into a game breaking bug multiple times, inexcusable that it was never patched, forums were littered with folks who had the same problems I did. I would recommend NOT playing it even if you got it for free, much less putting your hard earned money towards it.
Summary: Purchased this game because of its co-op option. Played it without any problems for a couple of weeks, but noticed that there were several bugs. Finally, during one stage of the game all other characters disappeared and our characters were just walking around in an empty LOTR universe with no one to fight and nothing to do. We tried everything, and since we had gotten pretty far, were just too annoyed by it to start over.
Summary: This game was an excellent spiritual successor to the Norrath games until the game-ending bugs got to be too much to deal with, even after the patch. Maybe if a second patch comes out will try and pick it up again, but don't spend your money on it unless you want to end the game in frustration.
Summary: While the game itself is fun, there are so many glitches and problems it's not worth it. We put in at least 20 hours of co-op playing and are now stuck. Not in a "oh no, this is hard" way, but in a "the game is glitched and will not give us our next spot to go to no matter what we do." They have already released one patch to try to fix problems like this, but it did not help this one.
Summary: After spending many hours playing the game glitched in mirkwood, which is in the begining of ch.5 when you start the level you fight a powerful enemy after defeating him the game will auto save. Then you fight a bunch of orcs if you die fighting the orcs the game will start at he autosave but will tell you that your mission is to fight the enemy you fought when you first arrived and you cannot progress further. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
Summary: My girlfriend and I started playing this game and we got about 20 hours in when we hit this game breaking glitch. what ended up happening is we didn't talk to a certain character At one point in the game so we were not allowed to continue forward and there's no way to go back and it is basically frozen. so from now on every time I booted my game and try to load my save file it just freezes.
Summary: I bought this game about a week ago, and my wife and I have been playing split screen co-op. The game itself is pretty fun and plays well. As we have been playing there have been minor glitches here and there, but it wasn't until today that we hit a complete show-stopper. After putting in decent amount of time, we can no longer progress. The game bugged and will not update a key progression related quest.
Great game play and fun story, if only I could play it through...

Summary: I give this game 5 stars for fun, creativity, game play, and the coop mode is great! I played strait through the single player and was staying up late to finish. I started playing coop with my brother-in-law and when we got to the 5th chapter, we couldn't go any further. It's a game wreaking bug. We can play level 1-5 as much as we want but since that is only about 1/3 of the game, we are stuck.

Summary: Im a huge fan of lord of the rings. I got to say, when I first started playing this game I really did not like it. It was hard to relate to the characters which didn't make it feel like a true Lord of the Rings experience. However, since I spent 55 bucks on it I forced myself to truck along. Eventually, I reallllllly started to get into it. The game play is pretty good if you give it a chance, and it is pretty challenging. The music score is amazing as well.
A well integrated story with stunning Middle Earth vistas is marred by many significant bugs

Summary: War in the North has a linear plot line that allows it to cleverly integrate within the story line of the Lord of the Rings novel, and the visuals of the landscape and sweeping vistas of Middle Earth make for an enjoyable trek through Middle Earth for long time Tolkien fans. Unfortunately there are so many bugs in the game that I must recommend users stay away -- at least until a comprehensive patch is released and validated.
