Summary: I received this item in good condition as described but when I played the videogame I had issues at the end of the game. I couls not complete the final chapter. The videogame was damaged. I sent an email to the seller and I received my money back. The seller was honest and did not take advantage of the situation.
Summary: The game is fun enough, but the storyline is rather poorly explained. The idea is interesting, but having to blast out light after light can get rather tiresome. The graphics are decent for an early PS3 game, but if you are going back now to buy you will not be blown away by the graphics. The game is straightforward, and easy to play. I look forward to see what happens with the second. I bough this item used and it was in perfect condition and I save 15 bucks.
Summary: The Darkness has a creative concept though sadly the developers didn't capitalize on it as well as they could have. The story is based on the graphic novel series (though I'm not familiar with them) and it's unique in that you're a mob guy that is suddenly possessed by demonic powers but it can also be incredibly predictable at times. You meet certain characters and can immediately guess their fate.
Summary: Introduction I rented The Darkness based on a score of 80 at Metacritic.com and no other prior knowledge. I didn't even look at pictures of gameplay. Thus, I started the game with no expectations, which may be why I've been slightly frustrated and disappointed, and yet pleasantly surprised throughout the game. It certainly has more potential than the developers thought it did, which the state in which they released it suggests.
Summary: I am use to PC graphics (and older consoles). For fun factor, I had much more fun on simple older consoles, todays consoles just don't get that tilt factor for me. After saying that, I will get into this review of PS3 Version of 'The Darkness' Actually this review can be wrapped up pretty simple, the story line is very good. It makes you feel as though you are following a movie story line (at times this can become repetitive and boring.
Summary: The game was based on the comic book which gives it a decent storyline. The graphics were excellent especially the movie cutscenes.the extras are also great, with comics, artwork, etc. The gameplay though has its ups and downs. Its cool you have use of the darkness powers, but gunplay is shaky at best. The retical is a dot. I would of liked to have bigger aiming point. In summation, this game falls along the wayside with the many many other FPS games out.
Summary: What a great early if somewhat unrealistic shooter/horrer fantastic fun true to the comics if a bit strange in its authenticity but still a damn good game other than the cell type shading graphics but very good.
Summary: After months of waiting following the release of "Darkness 2", I managed to get my hands on this (I played the demo of the sequel which was why I was desperate to play this before shelling out for the sequel game so that I understand the story and how the gameplay really works). I was utterly disappointed by the length of the game, the limitation of travel and the lack of content that I had really been led to expect through the recommendation of other gamers and the...
Excerpt: The Darkness is a horror/fantasy First Person Shooter for the PS3 and Xbox, originally released in 2007 and based on a comic book that I had never heard of before the game was released. It picked up a few very impressive review scores and being a fan of FPS games, particularly ones that try to be a little different, I grabbed a copy. The player takes the role of Jackie Estacado on his 21st birthday.
