Game is dissapointing and rarely fun.

Scratchy, Amazon

  • Summary: I played Wet before i played Stranglehold and was told this was better. FALSE. True you can slow down time and slide on almost anything in the environment to perform acrobatic kills but the items you slide on or use to slow down time to do these acrobatic kills on are so small that you have to keep repeating the same thing over and over again. Even though you pretty much did the same thing in Wet somehow it was alot more fun in Wet than it is in Stranglehold.

Horrible game but great movie

Avenger, Amazon

  • Summary: I purchase this game for one reason and one reason only, it was a cheap way to get the Hard Boiled Movie. Note that the movie is not in HD, so do not expect a 1080p transfer of the movie. I really like the movie, unfortunately, that did not translate to the game. This game remind me too much of Max Payne, with BulletTime and everything, except Max Payne was developed for PS2 and Stranglehold's graphic is about just as good as that.

The only thing saving this game is the John Woo name.

  • Summary: Stranglehold is John Woo's entry to the video game market, and will probably stay that way as just an entry. Its 2010 and still know other game with the John Woo name I'm guessing he wasn't so pleased with the sales of this game. Just stick to the films John, But I applaud him for trying. The game is a 3rd person shooter similar to Max payne, Dead to rights and whatever other game that has you playing as a cop and slo mo is involved.

Action !!!

Lord of war 777 , GameStop

  • Summary: Stranglehold Too start with is a very fun enjoyable experience with Shooting the whole way you never put down a gun and that's not necessarily a bad thing storyline. your basically a cop who's daughter and wife get kidnapped by a kingpin boss and trying to get them back the whole game length. If your looking for a long game well except to get disappointed this has maybe 3 hours of game play but in that time you'll be so intrigued with gun fights you wont care Selection.

Duty vs. Friendship

  • Summary: Many reviewers have already covered Stranglehold's features and gameplay extensively, so I'm just going to talk about a few things I've noticed as a long-time fan of FPS games and of John Woo. *First-generation graphics: Stranglehold is showing its age. The graphics are clearly from the first generation of games produced for current game consoles.

Like a "popcorn" movie

  • Summary: This game isn't going to change the world or anything. It is fun. Plain and simple. It is like a summer blockbuster movie. It has its flaws, but it keeps you entertained. And for a low price (if you can find one for), it is worth it. I would not spend $60 on this game. $20 or lower is reasonable.

The greatest of the mediocore.

Jordan P. Rodgers "Game Geek", Amazon
7 January 2010
  • Summary: It's strange, because I can't think of anything truly bad about this game. It's just...good. The only great thing about it is when you activate Tequila's various special moves and destroy absolutely everything in your path. Other than that? Moving around feels too loose and flimsy and there really should have been more to physical combat because there are times when it feels better to get up close and clock someone.

Not worth it

M. Nalchajyan, Amazon

  • Summary: This game looks like it was made back in 2000. This game does not even compare to any of the games made these past two years. The graphics are bad and the gameplay is terrible too.

  • Summary: The Game play is cool can be severely irritating The Sound is Horrible Sounds like the gameplay sound is cracking like your TV Speakers are busted I Recommend this game as a rental not to buy and keep because every time you play you will hear that cracking sound. This my 4th stranglehold game to see if it's just the game shol enough it is the game. Just rent don't buy unless you like the sound of your speakers busted.
