A Real Bummer of a Star Wars Adventure
24 February 2013
Summary: I've always wanted a Star Wars game where you practically felt like a god with a lightsaber in your hand. The Force Unleashed did not grant me this wish. The game has not aged very well, and the controls are wonky. The graphics look extremely dated, and it's almost unbelievable how buggy this finished product is. I couldn't even bring myself to finish the game...after a bit of a grace period, I will sink my teeth into the sequel.
a good game that could have been great (ps3 version)

Summary: the story is great, the acting is great, but the gameplay itself has a couple fails. the camera perspective leaves much to be desired; during regular gameplay it just simply has occasional farts (ie not staying on enemies when you lock onto and/or attack them), but the boss battles are where it really gets terrible. the camera will zoom out so wide that its very difficult to see your character and also the boss that youre fighting.
Summary: This game is based around the middle story between the 3rd and 4th episode. It's about the starting of the Rebellion and Starkiller's feats. In game you have your trusty Lightsaber, and a variety of force powers. You battle through many levels getting people to join your cause. The graphic of this game are accurate to that of Star Wars. Most of the new units seen familiar too. The gameplay though is extremely difficult to work with.
Summary: I bought this at the now much reduced price, and just completed the main story today. Being a devout fan, I will admit to being less than impressed by the story at first, although I do think it improves towards the end, particularly with the dialogue (which starts off fairly horribly and gets a bit more coherent towards the final scenes).
Summary: I heard really good things about this game and I really wanted to like it. After about an hour of play time I grew disgusted on how bad the game mechanics were. I'd try to strike an enemy but end up facing a wall and fighting the wall. I mean really?! The graphics were pretty decent for the most part but I hated the fact that the characters movements were very robot like. I couldn't even finish the game because I don't feel like spending $1k on a new TV.
Summary: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a frustrating mess. Meh. While playing it I encountered many glitches and game lockups. What's the opposite of game polish? I hoped that it would get better. But the enemy AI didn't change much throughout the game. Appearances by favorites Yoda and Darth Vader weren't enough to salvage the game. You are better off skipping this one.
Summary: The game was really fun going through once. After that, there really isn't much of a replay factor. The bad thing is that you only get the best force powers near the end which end up being nullified for various reasons. Being able to play more as Darth Vader would have been a nice plus. Another negative: With this being ported to every platform on earth, this left the graphics much to be desired. It looks pretty crappy at times.
Summary: Another reason why Lucas Arts has lost my respect! Star Wars: Force Unleashed has ruined me. I can no longer just enjoy a game. I must nit-pick it for its flaws and then wallow in my loathing and hatred for poorly designed games. Let me explain: Controls: The targeting does not work. You try to lock on to an opponent who is obviously killing you and instead, you grab some space junk instead.
If only the apprentice had learned basic fighting skills...

Summary: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed had the potential for a great story, great game play, and an all-around great entry in the abysmal field of Star Wars video games. Sadly, it fails to live up to its potential. The story is mildly entertaining, but extremely predictable. The controls and gameplay are frustrating and difficult, often times working against you. The graphics and sound are good, but nothing spectacular.
