Reviews and Problems with STAR OCEAN THE LAST HOPE: INTERNATIONAL

Summary: This game is not good. I have no idea why it has gotten good reviews, but this has been a huge let down. I can not even finish it because it is just so dorky even for me. Reminds me of a constant end of fight scene of virtua fighter with every fight that you do and there are plenty of them so just imagine watching the same Japanese winning battle sequence time after frequent time. This was the main reason I could not finish.
Summary: The copy I got from Amazon seems to be multifunctional. At first the game works fine, but then, probably somewhere in the middle, all of sudden certain buttons (like the X for attack) stop working, selecting something in the menu also does not work anymore, because if you skip down, it skips down ALL the way to the last item/option in the list immediately, without letting you select anything. You really cannot play like this.
Summary: The PlayStation 3 version of this intergalactic quest has a few extra
surprises that fans of Japanese role-playing games will appreciate. Awesome combat system
Intermittent moments of visual beauty
Lots of extra stuff to do The Last Hope is a solid and mostly fun JRPG with a few character flaws that
don't ultimately sink the ship. The international version is condensed onto a
single disc, so there's no irritating swapping to deal with.
Excerpt: what is this??? spent an hour learning the battle system and 30 minutes watching the cutscenes and the game still made no sense. the camera angles or mediocre at best and the battle system is very stiff and feels so unnatural.
