Expert Review

13 October 2011
  • Conclusion: The DS version of the game is rated E-10 with ESRB descriptors of Comic Violence and Suggestive Themes. Spider-Man can punch enemies, who disappear when defeated. I guess the suggestive themes come from some of the female characters’ costumes. The 3DS version is rated T for Teen with ESRB descriptors of Mild Language, Suggestive Themes, and Violence. As it is a 3-D game, the fights are more graphic. The language must be used sparingly, because I didn’t notice anything.

Spider-Man 3 Review

PlayStation Universe
8 April 2009
  • Summary: Spider-Man 3 is decent for a movie game, but ultimately isn't worth more than a rent.
  • Pros: Plenty of challenges, and token hunting., Nice lighting effects and motion blur., Characters have high polygon counts.
  • Cons: Repetitive combat, poor boss design, and hard to navigate interiors., Manhattan has no sound to it., Glitches, poor animation, and a stuttering framerate.

Spider-Man 3 Review

15 May 2008
  • Excerpt: Alongside the hotly anticipated film comes the video game adaptation of Spider-Man 3 for consoles. But be forewarned that not all versions offer the same gameplay experience. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, produced by longtime Spidey developer Treyarch, were essentially slightly upgraded versions of the previous Spider-Man movie games.
  • Pros: Webswinging with the Wii Remote is kind of cool, Huge city to explore
  • Cons: Combat and camera controls are awful, A relatively short, completely disjointed storyline, Crummy combat moves and lame enemies, Graphics are massively underwhelming, Cheesy voice acting

Spider-Man 3: Collector's Edition

Playstation Illustrated
6 May 2008
  • Excerpt: The more advanced games become, the more the little things will stick out. New York City is recreated as the world you get to save in Spider-Man 3: Collector's Edition . There's the familiar skyline you'll get to swing from as well as traffic, both automotive and pedestrian, roaming above ground, with subway trains tunneling below. The problem is that the more realistic things appear, the more we scrutinize them to determine if they're real or not.

Spider-man 3 Collector's Edition

Digital Chumps
19 March 2008
  • Conclusion: I think the game put it best whenever you failed at a mission. When you fail, you have the option to “Retry” or “Try Something Else.” Of course in the game they meant to abort the mission and try another one, but you should go beyond that and just try something else entirely because Spider-Man 3 is a very disappointing and frustrating game that is not worth your hard earned cash.

Spider-Man 3

16 October 2007
  • Excerpt: It wouldn't be a big, splashy, blockbuster film release without the obligatory game tie-in, would it... Spider-Man 3 is no exception. The good news is that where movie licenses generally have a reputation for lazy development, games based on the Spider-man films have a reputation for quality and good, wholesome fun. While Activision's promising fun this time around, we can't promise that it'll necessarily be wholesome.
