  • Conclusion: Sound Shapes Image © Sony What do you expect from a video game? If you want high-speed action, you're probably nowhere near a review of "Sound Shapes." And yet I think this is a game that really could appeal to absolutely everyone. There's so much creativity on display here and the potential for hours and hours of entertainment for a remarkably low price point. It's one of the best games of the year. Sound Shapes

Family Friendly Gaming
2 February 2013
  • Excerpt: Sound Shapes reminds me of that old phrase: "business is about ready to pick up." The Playstation Vita has had a drought that is getting ready to end. To be fair Sound Shapes is on the PS3 and PS Vita. So families can enjoy this eclectic adventure on either system. I enjoy it on the PS Vita personally. Sound Shapes can be difficult to classify.

Sound Shapes

Digital Chumps

  • Conclusion: Sound Shapes boasts an effortless dedication to intoxicating the player's senses through its sights and sounds. Call it distilled bliss or displaced affection, but there's an explicit sense of euphoria acquired by absorbing Sound Shapes' rich presentation. It's great at being a game, but it's better understood as a favorite song or album. It's something to be played and enjoyed if for no other reason than the sheer pleasure of repeating the process.

Sound Shapes review

GameZone
10 August 2012
  • Excerpt: Sound Shapes may very well be one of the most astoundingly surprising games to launch this summer. I say that because despite the fact that I enjoyed it at E3 a couple of months ago, it still totally surprised me when I finally played the full version. I knew I liked the game before, but upon playing the complete game on the PlayStation Network, I fell in love with it.

Sound Shapes

IGN
7 August 2012
  • Conclusion: Connection problems and online funkiness aside, Sound Shapes absolutely floored me. Just about everything it does – and with its grand aesthetic taken as a whole – will blow you away. Sound Shapes isn’t only a totally novel game that melds unlikely components together. It’s also successful at trying something new and different. It’s bold, daring and unlike anything you can play on PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, or PlayStation 4.
  • Pros: Wonderful soundtrack, Beautiful graphics, Novel gameplay, Cool customization tools
  • Cons: Very short
