Summary: This game is bad and i hate how people say "this is the best sonic stage ever" when in the day time stages is not what a real sonic game is not suppose to be. If the day time stages were to be any faster then it would feel like I'm playing a racing game not a sonic game. And sonic can move stiff as a board when there is platforming and a little hard to control. And if you wont to play some good more modern sonic games i recommend......
Summary: As a log time Sonic fan this game was very disappointing. As the name implies 'Sonic' is a title where the intention is to have fast-paced gameplay. In this 3D action adventure game you play as Sonic, who has been transformed by Dr. Robotnik into a 'Warehog'.. :^/ and you need to save the day. BTW, yes I said 'Warehog'. This would be all fine and great, but the way they did it sux.
Summary: I was unaware that sonic changed to the 'fighting sonic'. I enjoyed the demo level I downloaded(normal running sonic with lush scrolling environment), and was under the false impression the whole game would be like that. the fighting parts are extremely annoying and you cant proceed OR go back to the previous levels until you finish the one you will eventually get stuck on.
Summary: We bought this game because the kids liked the demo. Unfortunately the game doens't really resemble the fast action demo or the Sonic games of the past. It's much slower with some RPG type stuff involved. Very disappointed in it. Should have checked the metacritic scores first which were poor.
Summary: I have not felt compelled to write a review here in a long time but this game has me upset. I played the demo from PSN and expected good old Sega Genesis type Sonic play since thats what the demo was. Basically I expected the Sega days of running at an absurd speed trying to duck and dodge obstacles and collect rings and maybe find some hidden passageways such as what the demo board was.
Some glimmers of hope but not enough to rescue the franchise.

Excerpt: I sometimes wonder if SEGA are deliberately trying to put themselves out of business. Starting the late 90s, their tragically poor marketing of a sequence of hardware developments led to them leaving the games console business forever and they have spent the last then years making their most famous video game franchise look cheap and outdated.
This is a poor Sonic PS3 title, which fails to reproduce its legendary fun gameplay. 5/10,

Excerpt: I bought this game for my little brother after seeing the price drop to £20 in a popular high-street gaming store. However it turns out that the price wasn't the only thing to drop - after a few hours playing this game, this game was jaw-droppingly repetitive, shallow and had somehow managed to take away all the fun out of the Sonic series and produce a mediocre game.
Conclusion: i never had a doubt that this game would be anything other than a dissapointment. first off the story is a awfull in every way, its boring and unengaging, the characters are hollow and have no charm and sonic has this whole stereotype of being an unually simple shell filled with stupid catchphrases in every game hes in.
