Excerpt: The first two Soldier of Fortune games were pretty good games that were well worth a playthrough. Raven Software’s gore-dripping shooter series boasted the most realistic violence seen in games with each enemy having 26 dismemberment spots and 36 in the second game. Soldier of Fortune is back, but Raven isn’t at the helm anymore; instead the series has been handed over to Slovakian developers, Cauldron, who are also responsible for The History Channel: Civil War – A...
Excerpt: The Soldier of Fortune games met with a certain degree of success thanks to a solid shooter mechanic mixed with a unnaturally high amount of gore. Well now the series has returned with Soldier of Fortune: Payback, this time on the PC and consoles with all the blood and guts we’ve come to expect, plus a budget price tag. Is this soldier a fortune or filing chapter 9?
Excerpt: Soldier of Fortune has been on a hiatus lasting over four years now. Though, to be perfectly honest, it isn't a franchise many missed, because it was only worth playing on the PC. You see, in the past, there was a rule of thumb for Soldier of Fortune games: the PC versions were good, but the console games sucked. Simple, right? Though, to be fair, the Dreamcast port wasn't bad for its time, but it wasn't spectacular, either.
Summary: If you've ever wondered what happened to the Soldier of Fortune franchise, you're not alone. The first two Soldier of Fortune games were popular shooters in their day, blending fun single-player and multiplayer gameplay with the concept of playing as a mercenary. But after 2002's Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, the franchise seemed to fall off the face of the planet.
Pros: It looks pretty
Cons: Terrible, frustrating, painful gameplay, Falls well below standard set by previous two games, Lousy artificial intelligence and gunplay
Excerpt: Soldier of Fortune has been a cult title from the minute its first installment hit store shelves. Played more for the intense action and gore than the actual gameplay, people knew what they’d get. Soldier of Fortune II came along and was essentially more of the same, but ultimately not quite up to the original’s status. Now, we have Soldier of Fortune: Payback, and it continues the downward trend the series took from its initial release.
Excerpt: Gore Please I bought this game. Knowing it has very poor review scores, mostly below 5 /10. I paid 39.99 for it so why would I do that? Instinct told me I would love this game like I love the earlier games in the series. Reading comments like, it’s too easy, poor level design, poor AI, poor storyline, these are all true but do not spoil the experience. I bought it, not expecting a Call of Duty 4, or Medal Of Honor Airbourne , this is different.
Pros: Lots Of gore, Online Play basic, but Lag Free and Fun, AI is so bad it’s good, part of the games charm, Weapons Sound Awesome, Massive Choice Of Weapons to pick from.
Cons: Poor Storyline, Linear Game play with little variety in levels, Has Its Share Of glitches
Pros: Relativt billig anatomilektion
Pros: Diablement défoulant, Un arsenal bien fourni
