Excerpt: As sniping in games is so popular, it’s really quite surprising that sniper gaming releases aren’t a more regular occurence. Sniper: Ghost Warrior is one of these rarities, in which you’ll often be viewing your surroundings through a scope, although it’s also a game that received a real rough time upon its release on the Xbox 360.
Excerpt: As opposed to games such as Crysis 2, Duke Nukem Forever or Bulletstorm, City Interactive's Sniper: Ghost Warrior is a much more grounded game. There are no over the top action sequences in this game (not that there's wrong with that) but rather, Sniper: Ghost Warrior focuses on realism as the player takes the role of a sniper as they attempt to eliminate their victims with their sniper rifle.
Excerpt: In warfare, it's a pretty well-established adage that range comes at the cost of precision. If you've got a target in mind, but you don't want to fire from the same continent, you're looking at using a nuke, which will take out not just the target but most of the surrounding country. Zoom in a bit and it's all cruise missiles, then air strikes, then tanks and infantry combat, right down to the ultimate precision that comes from man-to-man close combat.
Pros: Proper Gorgeous, Good simple fun
Cons: Scenery is a bit sticky, Not a gritty sniper sim, Shoddy stealth sections
Conclusion: Personally i had high expectation from Sniper: Ghost Warrior, and it really did a good job but only in some aspect. Overall its not a completely bad game, but there are many flaws in the game. If you enjoy sniping and like stealth games then this one is definitely for you.
Conclusion: Sniper Ghost Warrior does exactly what it says on the tin. If you don’t think camping is a legitimate strategy then stay away. However all other players are welcome and should enjoy. Any issues that you will invariably come across are easily negotiated around, and in all honest don’t affect the playability of a mighty fine sniper game.
Pros: All Ghilled Up is the game. PS3 version last even longer thanks to a fleshed out expansion. More multiplayer maps and modes.
Cons: AI can spot you strangely fast. Awkward ground clipping still exists.
Excerpt: Sniper: Ghost Warrior is a strange game to behold. Most first person shooters have a sniping section in them and they are usually regarded as a bit of a treat; a welcome break from the chaotic action usually going on all around you. Sniper: Ghost Warrior is a game made up entirely of sniping sections with a couple of chaotic action scenes thrown in to break up the generally quite slow pace.
