Summary: I love the Skate, franchise, the graphics, and the realism. BUT the career mode, well there isn't really one. You just go around doing random photoshoots. Plus, getting off your board is a little annoying because when you're walking around your guy doesn't really respond as fast as you'd like. But after that its a sick game, with awesome online stuff, and great free skating!
Summary: I've been waiting for Skate 2 to come out for a while. It seemed like a great game, especially after the original Skate's success. I got the demo as soon as it came out, and I purchased the game as soon as I could. Honestly, though, it's all hype. Sure, the graphics are great, the tricks are fun, and multiplayer is a blast... but it lacks something. It lacks fun. The city is vast but a few spots are fun.
Summary: I'm a big skateboarder and thus loved how realistic the original Skate was. I can understand why people who aren't skaters have trouble with things like terminology, but since I'm an avid skater I know all of the tricks and I was able to see how realistic the controls were. Everything about Skate was fantastic: the graphics, the music, the controls, you name it and it was awesome. However, Skate 2 seems to have taken a few steps backwards in my eyes.
Summary: This game is awesome except for one major problem.. it has frozen almost 10 times within 2 hours of playing during gameplay on my ps3. This is the only game that freezes that I have. The demo froze a lot too but I thought the disk wouldn't. The game is really fun except when you have to shutdown your whole system every 15 minutes while playing the game. update: I returned the game for a new one and it still freezes. Is anyone else having problems??
Summary: I bought this game for my son who is a avid Skateboard fan. He has played it non stop and has even used the online function. A good by for s8r's who enjoy watching others hurt themselves without going through physical pain themselves
Conclusion: I must admit I have been looking forward to this game since I completed the original Skate, I loved the way it was so different. Using a brand new control system and going for a realistic take on the sport rather than the way over the top Tony Hawk games, there were issues though. You couldn't get off your board, the online was very laggy and the goals were very trick specific which became very frustrating very quickly, but the new Skate has attempted to solve these...
