Conclusion: What Singularity is is a AAA title masked behind a lack of commercialism, which is completely out of style for Activision, and not nearly enough time to polish the game. With another two-three months, Singularity could probably have been the best shooter of the year, though I suspect at least one title seen at E3 will change that later this year. Still, Singularity is the best FPS we’ve seen this year thus far, and I highly recommend it.
Excerpt: Singularity is a unique action/shooter game developed by Raven Software, the bright minds from last year's Wolfenstein . It's quite clear that the team learned plenty in developing Wolfenstein and perfected those techniques for Singularity . Singularity takes place between the time periods of 1955 and the present, well, sort of. You play as Captain Nathaniel Renko, sent by the U.S.
Excerpt: Half-Life 2 meets BioShock sounds like a good pitch for a first-person shooter. Two of the most popular and well received games of all time, squished together to create something that combines the best aspects of each, from a publisher with the financial might to make it a commercial success too.

Summary: I had a pretty fun time playing through the single player campaign of Singularity . The game-play mechanics of the Time Machine Device that allow you to solve puzzles and kill enemies, as well as the utility of the power weapons really kept things interesting as hordes of creatures threaten to keep your health bar depleted.
Summary: A terrific single player romp that combines science fiction and history to give you a look at what might have been. Multiplayer deserves some attention, but only if the developers give it some attention in the form of a patch.
Summary: Raven’s Singularity is an great FPS experience from start to finish with few flaws, but unfortunately, not a whole heck of a lot we haven’t seen countless times already. At times, the game’s structure and aesthetic borrows more from Bioshock than Bioshock 2 did, but still manages to come together extremely well as its own dystopian sci fi/horror epic.
Excerpt: Bioshock might have set the mold of adding psionic powers to the first person shooter, but both games in that series left me disappointed with the bad endings. Even so, it spawned other shooters out that take the concept of adding special abilities to your guns and runs with it. Raven's Singularity is one of them. Singularity takes place both in 1955 and 2010.
Singularity - proof that recycling isn't always a bad thing.

Excerpt: Raven Software have been around for a while now churning out some not so brilliant but enjoyable games such as Wolfenstein, X-Men Wolverine and Soldier of Fortune. This may explain why Activision didn’t do a big promotional push on this game as it seemed to sneak out under the radar.
