Test SingStar Dance

Generation NT
6 March 2011

Popular music series adds dancing but has mature themes.

Common Sense Media
2 March 2011
  • Summary: Parents need to know that SingStar + Dance is a karaoke game with dance elements that encourages players to get up and move to their favourite music. However, it also contains some mature themes, including suggestive dancing, derogatory language, and references to drugs and alcohol. It makes use of the PlayStation Eye to register the movements of players as well as record videos of player performances that can be shared online.

SingStar Dance

Game Boyz
27 November 2010
  • Excerpt: The SingStar franchise is back on the PlayStation 3 console with SingStar Dance. Having reviewed a glut of SingStar games in the past, I think I had my fill of SingStar games to last me a lifetime. Not because they are bad games but rather the franchise has become a little stale in recent years.

SingStar Dance Review

PlayStation Universe
1 November 2010
  • Summary: Great fun, but dancing feels tacked onto the established SingStar experience rather than a complete standalone dance package.
  • Pros: How it adds variety to the established SingStar experience, How the slick scoring system encourages competitiveness
  • Cons: How you can cheat the dance routines and not actually dance, The tracklist -- there are lots of better songs you could dance to
