Not up to Silent Hill name

Basic_Shopper2, Amazon

  • Summary: This game was very irritating. The boss fights are unimaginative and repetitive. All the voice acting is sub-par and the character animations are not pleasing to the eye. I picked it up for less then 20 bucks, and am still displeased. The game is much harder then in needs to be.

Great game, ruined by terrible control issues

Derek, Amazon

  • Summary: Let me start off saying that I have played the other Silent Hill games on PS2 and PSP. I was very much looking forward to this one. The game has great graphics, awesome sound, the atmosphere is definetively Silent Hill. I got hooked by the graphics and could not get enough of the storyline.

At least the music's good...

tspeecestudios, Amazon
26 June 2011
  • Summary: In Homecoming you can really see the struggle to bridge the gap between the PS2 and the PS3's capabilities. In a bid to throw back to the earlier Silent Hill games, the designers put a heavy emphasis on fog, which leaves the player sort of just wandering aimlessly without any landmarks or even...

Silent Hill in name only

Internal Abbatoir, Amazon

  • Summary: My hypothesis is what happens to a certain series, band, or artist who was once great but somehow lost it along the way? Is it the value of money or "selling out" over artistic credibility?

SHHC does a lot of things right, but fails in the most important parts.

  • Summary: I'm big silent hill fan, so naturally, I went out and bought this game. The developers stayed true to the style and look of past silent hill games, which is great. The graphics were up to standards with the series as well. Actually, just about everything was except for the gameplay.

Double Helix destroyed it, but it's still playable

iboy2g, Ebay
9 August 2009
  • Summary: The new Silent Hill brings many changes, some good but most bad, to the series. I first want to say that the new development company has done a horrible job at keeping up with Team Silent (previous developer).

For a franchise that has been around for a while it was just a matter of time for some one to ruin it

I. Aguilar, Amazon
23 October 2008
  • Summary: The graphics and sound are great and that's about it , the first annoyance is the lighting in this game, the flashlight is not bright enough, you would think that in a game like this it would contribute to the scary factor but it doesn't , the second annoyance is the enemies, they are more difficult...

  • Summary: Well like all SH fans, I was really excited about this release. I saw all the problems straight out of the box, but I made allowances because it was silent hill There is little introduction to the game, you're pretty much thrown straight into it.

Equal parts frustrating, boring and disappointing

Ms. S. L. H, Amazon
24 May 2010
  • Summary: As a long-time Silent Hill and general horror fan, I was certainly dubious when I heard that development of Homecoming had been handed over to a different team than the original. Silent Hill has always been the definitive horror game series, foregoing standard gore and gimmicky jumpy scares for a...
